  1. Taking my last pill tonight. Face is completely clear and haven't had a pimple on it in a long time. A few on my shoulders just popped up but nothing rampant, just very spotty. The dermatologist said that because I still have a few on my back, I'm technically not considered a "cure," but that since I responded so well to the Accutane that she expects me to do very well after the fact. I think I'm more nervous going off this stuff than I was going on it. It is almost mentally addicting, like
  2. Here's what works for me... I kinda invented this on my own... I have a combination of 4 things that I use. (1) Chapstick Medicated Lip Balm (light blue label) (2) Aquafor Gel (3) Chapstick Lip Moisterizer (4) Burt's Bees (Beeswax Lip Balm available at www.burtsbees.com) I've found that the trick to keeping my lips in working order is actually rubbing the stuff into my lips and not just smudging it on like I'm putting on lipstick. And I mean, really really really rub it in. I have
  3. Anyone out there completely cured from one course of Accutane? I'm just about to finish up and want to know how people have fared. I'm 23 years old and just got done with my first 6-month course. I responded very quickly to Accutane and haven't had a pimple on my face in 3 months.
  4. No not at all! Clear skin is our birthright, but with about 80% of teenagers experiencing acne I just think it's more acceptable at a younger age and other less harder treatments should be sought out. Also, don't be put off by the flawless faces of celebrities. Did you kno Brad Pitt has many acne scars still from acne treatment and some celebs still suffer. Check it out. http://searchwarp.com/swa9065.htm http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/main.jht.../18/hacne18.xml Everyone gets it, I
  5. Thursday is my last day on Accutane, and it seems the only things I'm reading on this board are that my acne will be back in full force at some point in time. I've been one of the lucky ones so far with this drug... I had some cystic acne on my face and was completely clear after 2 months with no scarring and have had 1 pimple on my face since. Is there anyone out there that was fully cured? I'm told that my acne will never be as bad, but might come back at some point in time. Can we get a
  6. Yeah Zad, what are you talking about? I think you may have just made up that scenario to scare people. Even if Accutane does cause depression (which it probably doesn't but we're supposed to think it does because a senator's child committed suicide while taking it), it wouldn't be the kind of thing that would just spontaneously pop up at the bar one night and make you inconsolably sad. You're implying that the poster already has depression, which is likely a false assumption. From someone
  7. Hi all -- Just stumbled across this board while bored at work and figured I'd contribute my two sense. You'll notice from the length that it's an extremely slow work day, so bear with me… To give you some background, I'm in my early 20s and had some pretty wicked, cystic acne along my jawline and on my back. I'm sure it wasn't as bad as some of you have experienced, but it was bad enough to be noticeable. I tried everything topical that the dermatologists prescribed, but none of that
