  1. I'd recommend Origins matte scientist. It doesn't block the pores, and it contains mattifyers that absorb the shine. It's a bit expensive but it's a very light cream that lasts quite a while. I can't imagine going out without it on anymore - it works really well. I've seen cheaper mattifying moisturizers, but I trust Origins as none of their products for oily skin have ever made me break out or irritate my skin in any way.
  2. I too get really bright yellow urine when I take my high-dose multivitamin.
  3. I've just bought some quinoderm (in the UK) as oxy on the spot isn't really helping me. I was surprised to find that quinoderm contains castor oil. Many on this board have said that quinoderm is less irritating than other BP creams, so perhaps castor oil is the reason. But, I'm really surprised to find an oil in an acne treatment! Most oils block the pores. Any comments??
  4. But if I don't need B5 anymore, then why am I breaking out? Anyway, I have stopped B5 for now, and have had good results with 2.5% benzoyl peroxide (oxy on the spot cream). Strange that it is working because I tried it years ago and it didn't work. I don't understand why B5 stopped working for me, but I'm happy to continue the BP for now. It works out cheaper which is a good thing, and its nice not having to pop so many pills.
  5. I read about this in an old fashioned book years ago, but I like it a lot. When I want to exfoliate my face (eg if it has any flaky bits), I use a soft, clean, dry towel and rub very gently over a clean dry face. Then, rinse with water. I wouldn't do it too often (maybe once a week), but it does give a nice healthy look to the skin. Sharon.
  6. I have been using Origins Oil Manager for years and love it. It doesn't cause me to break out like everything else, but it is a good moisturizer. I use it at night though as I find I get a bit too shiny using a moisturizer during the day. Origins also do an oil absorbing moisturizer (I can't remember what it is called). I'd like to know if anyone prone to breaking out has tried it. I would worry that whatever is soaking up the oil would also clog pores. Sharon.
  7. I would agree with a week. I posted last week about how B5 is no longer working for me. I have been using benzoyl peroxide 2.5% for a week and I am starting to see an improvement. Not clear obviously, but an encouraging result that will keep me going until my face is clear.
  8. I think this will happen naturally with time as your skin heals. That is what happeneded to me when I responded to B5. It just may take a couple of months to happen.
  9. It's interesting that you only have blackheads on one side of your face. Do you know why? Do you sleep on that side? If you do, it may be caused by sweat, in which case, you could try making sure that you have a clean pillow case every night. Or, perhaps sleeping on that side is taking off any topical medication that you are using, in which case, you could make sure that you use the medication during the day.
  10. Thanks for your reply, Peaches! Even if my hormone levels have changed, I always thought that B5 would keep my skin clear. My take on Dr Leung's studies is that B5 cures hormonal acne. However, there must be other things that the body needs, I'm just not sure what vitamins/minerals to try and at what doses. I wish doctors could advise on this, but all they seem to know about are the drugs, which have never really helped me (they just make pharmaceutical companies richer!). I also hav
  11. Hi, I am new to this board, and really hope that someone can give me some advice. I am female, and have suffered from oily skin and acne for most of my life (currently 31 years old). About 2 years ago, I finally managed to get clear skin by taking B5, and have been taking about 6 to 8 grams per day ever since. My skin has been about 90% clear. However, recently, my skin has become very oily again, and lots of small spots are appearing all over my face, but especially the sides and jaw line.
