  1. hello, please what the name of tv show? i'd like see the episodic of robert davi ,of before and after treatment for acne scars.
    regards Ed

  2. Here I go again with this response... Neosporin or generic Neosporin might work, because that's what I use on pimples. It always works, and never dries out the skin.
  3. You could also smother it with Neosporin or generic Neosporin before bed. I did this last night on a pimple that was painful. This morning it was smaller and didn't hurt. I've been using generic Neosporin like this for months and it ALWAYS makes the pimple much smaller by morning. I can't use BP or other things -- they irritate my skin. Good luck
  4. Neosporin or generic Neosporin (same ingredients, but cheaper) always works so much better than BP for me. It's faster and doesn't dry your skin out at all (if that's a problem for you...for some people it's not). You might wanna try it.
  5. Hi, I'm not the first to post this topic, but I haven't seen it in a while. At night before bed, I dab generic over-the-counter antibiotic ointment (similar to NEOSPORIN) on pimples or anything that resembles the start of a pimple. 95% of the time, the pimple doesn't get any bigger and soon goes away. For me, this works so much better than BP or any of those prescription gels, creams, etc. I've been prescribed over the years. The best part is that it doesn't dry out your skin. If you'v
  6. Ladies, Do you know if a dermatologist can and/or will write a prescription for oral contraceptives if they are used to treat acne? I know a gynocologist will, but I can get a derm appt. faster than a gyno appt. Thanks!
  7. Hi, How old is your daughter? Is she too young for birth control pills and/or is this something you would consider? Orthotryclin-Lo, and it's generic, Tri-sprintec, have cured 95% of my cystic acne. The rest disappeared when I gave up dairy. If she is too young now, or you have other concerns, you might just keep this in mind for the future or as a "last resort," depending on the severity of her acne as she gets older. Good luck to you! It's so nice that you are supporting her.
  8. Hi, Last night, I'm embarrassed to admit , I was watching Entertainment Tonight or some similar show, with the stupid topic "Celebrity Cosmetic Surgery," and the actor Robert Davi was openly talking about how he got collagen injected into the acne scars on his cheeks. He said that he had bad acne when he was younger, and was used to the scars, but got tired of the media always calling attention to it. Anyway, Davi and his dermatologist (or plastic surgeon, not sure which) explained how
  9. Yesterday, another close friend with beautiful, flawless skin (no acne, no scars, no moles, no freckles) was complaining how she had gained 10 pounds over the summer. She said she didn't understand why, since she had not changed her eating habits or level of activity over the summer. I told her that maybe her weight is similar to my skin, how my skin just does what it wants, how sometimes it seems like I can affect what it does, other times not. *THEN* (ha ha) I said that maybe she'll have
  10. GRRR!!!!!!! Today was a bad day for self esteem!!!! This might make you laugh as I'm sure many of you can relate. Enjoy: This is my experience with 2 friends/coworkers (teachers) today. I'll call them Friend 1 and Friend 2. They are both really attractive and have PERFECT, BEAUTIFUL skin and completely take it for granted, of course. 1) The weather is really terrible right now (Florida). 95 degrees with intermittent rain every 20 minutes, which just increases the oil and sweating. Imp
  11. Hi! I used that powder for a while and didn't notice any positive difference in my acne. I switched back to the regular Neutrogena Healthy Skin Pressed powder, because it seemed a little less "cakey" at the end of the day.
  12. I haven't posted in a while because I couldn't access acne.org! My skin still looks 90% better than it did when I ate dairy. (I totally gave up all dairy.) I have a couple of small zits today, (hormonal) but nothing like the raging cystic acne that I had for 3 straight months. Within 4 days of giving up dairy, the cysts were gone and haven't returned. Did giving up dairy suck? Yeah, now I'm vegan, and I'm not enjoying it. Clearer skin is worth it, though. Try it if you're desperate.
  13. I used Differin and Retin-A Micro. (I don't know what the difference is between Retin-A and R.-A Micro.) Neither did anything positive for me, and I have fair, sensitive skin, so I never got past the "initial" dryness phase. My skin just stayed dry and red for the duration. I'm having more success with just apple cider vinegar. Of course, as we all always say on this board, "everyone is different."
