  1. Hi All I am currently four months in to 20mg course of Accutane. Things have been generally fine..and my skin has much improved. However the dry eyes seem to be getting more of a problem as time goes on and they get very tired and red. I use Dazzling Eye Drops to clear the redness but ive heard these are not good for you long term. I also have the artificial tears which has helped a little. I am wearing glasses as opposed to usual contact lenses. Anyone else experienced this, particularly i
  2. Well two months in on 20mg and my skin does feel drier generally and is quite clear with still the occasional outbreaks on my head. But............ in the last week or so I have been feeling quite low, anxious and depressed. Now i do suffer with these things a bit anyway and some personal issues have maybe bought it to the forefront. But i dont know what to do? Could it be the Accutane, i really really do not want to come off it as my skin got me down anyway!!! Of course, my mental health is
  3. Good to hear from you. Keep us informed!
  4. Thank you axtine8 for your comments. Yeh i think i was just having a "wobble" on Sunday and my skin became "all consuming" again...those days when you are oblivious to everything and everyone around you and the obsession takes hold! Day 14 and not much to report really....still the same. Moderatly dry around the nose and chin but STILL really greasy on my forehead??!! When will it end or atleast be reduced?!! Got some cortisone cream for the rash and it has helped considerably and has almo
  5. Hi Bobbyhall Your condition sounds EXACTLY like mine. Lots of oil few generally minor spots. See johnnyboys log. 20mg of the tane started end of Aug and going very well!! Usual side effects, dryness, sore lips..but apart from that everything is good. Best of luck with your course

  7. Bad day. Feeling a tad low this afternoon. Iam still getting the dryness around my chin and my mouth, nose areas where I never have any breakouts anyway. But..it is feeling slightly dry in the areas I am effected like temples and forehead and iam getting a nasty red, itching rash here thats driving me crazy and making me feel very self concious and down. I think it maybe because I have seb derm and drying out in these areas is causing me a bit of irritation??? I was going to try some hydrocor
  8. Day 9 and I am itching!!! Dryness around the chin and the nose but still very greasy on my forehead. Very slight breakout on Weds night in areas i do not normally suffer with i.e the cheeks. These were all gone by the morning however!! Ordered some Cetaphil moisturiser as advised by you lovely people. Gutted that I may have to pay now for my blood tests after hoping that I wouldnt! Apparently because forms need to be sent from Spire Hospital i would be charged anyway???!!! Its all policies and
  9. Thanks kyle 1 - hope you have much success with your treatment. Not much to report on day 7 here except-hello dryness! The very common dry lips syndrome is kicking in slightly so got myself a good chap stick. Forehead still very greasy. First round of blood tests on Sept 14th so fingers crossed! I have really managed to stick to the low carb thing despite my stomach grumbling like an alley cat. Trying to avoid the temptation of nighttime snacks and alcohol has been very testing but ive don
  10. I've read the same thing! Also, now that this time around seems to be more controlled by your derm hopefully you'll see lasting results Best of luck Thanks for your comments guys, really appreciated! Yeh i only had Tane for a pithy two months when first on it all those years ago...didnt even touch the surface eh..excuse the pun. It was (and is)mild but persistant and i really felt they put me on it back then to, partly "shut me up" as i was accused of "focusing all my anxieties onto my
  11. Thanks Goodz..fingers crossed for you too. Still riding the tane train to solutionsville! It may be a bumpy journey but I am on board and holding on tight! Day 5 and nothing to report really. No change. Its very early days i know and i wouldnt expect any difference yet anyway....no side effects at all. I will post as regularly as i can and particularly if anything changes...either positive or negative. Keep smilin!
  12. Well, here i am again!!! A sense of deja vu somewhat has i hit my second course of the tane! I took my first back in 98 however i know that i didnt have it for any longer than two months nor have any bloodtests! (something my current derm looked slightly horrified about!) I am back on it after mild but persistant acne on the temples upwards. They were on my cheeks about 12 years ago so i think they are gradually going North..and i am hoping the tane "gently" sends it on its way! My forehead is
  13. Good luck with the blood test Goodz, be thinking of you. Hope they have come down and you can continue the treatment. If you still want tane that is. My derm has agreed to me having a strictly monitored lowdose...hallelujah!..and i get them next Weds......gonna really have to stick to a strong diet and do all i can so they dont go up! Lots of fish, low carb food, water and no alcohol.....will need a beer (or two) come Xmas!
  14. Not so gutted! Despite my trig rise my derm has agreed to a strictly monitored low dose of accutane! well happy. Obviously ive gotta work hard to keep them at the level they are currently at and try to get lower...so lots of fish and no alcohol for a while..ill need a beer come xmas!!
  15. Hey Goodz! Retin A is about the only thing i havent tried..might as well give it ago! Does anyone know if it is availiable over the counter in the uk, if so which is the best? Or can my GP precribe it or does it have to be a derm like Tane does? Please let me know. Keep your chin up Goodz and keep eating the fish till you smell like the beach...thats what i am doing! Jaws always was one of my favourite films
