  1. Hi justmarvin The best thing you can do is go to a makeup counter that you want to purchase from and get an assistant to help you match up the right shade for you. It's one thing seeing a colour palet online and quite another on your skin. I know this might be rather uncomfartable for you to do. Hell, it's uncomfortable for me and I'm a female. I find some assistants can be insensitive and what they think matches your skin you don't, right? But it really is the only way to see if it matches exa
  2. The thing about buying foundations and concealers is that you really shouldn't scrimp on them, especially if there not working for you and you have to wash them off to start the application all over again. I don't know about you, but I don't have the time to be starting over in the morning. My makeup application can take a while as it is! And too much washing and messing about of the skin can aggrivate it more. You really do get what you pay for I think. I mentioned earlier in another thread th
  3. I have heard quite a lot of positive reports about Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation and know of a woman that uses it who used to suffer from acne. My question is, does it really look natural as people are saying it is and it is suitable for acne prone skin? Any contributions greatfully received!!!
  4. It sounds like Rosacea to me too. If you would like to try and cover with a foundation, I currently recommend Estee Lauder's Maximum cover SFP 15 foundation. It has great coverage for red areas and gives a smooth finish. You can use it as a concealer too. I use it in light which is the lightest shade they do and it doesn't match my skin tone exactly but it's OK until I can find a better one. Check out more info here: http://www.esteelauder.co.uk/templates/pro...UCT_ID=PROD1119 Let us know how
  5. How do you apply Bare Minerals makeup? As it just looks like powder and wouldn't cover really pigmented areas of my skin. Is it buildable? Can you keep applying more throughout the day? Does it change colour throughout the day? And do you need a separate powder to set the makeup after... Sorry about so many Qs but I'm very new to this type of makeup and don't quite know how it works. Cheers
  6. I feel everything you guys say! I'm 28 and thought I would have grown out of it by now too. I think the common view is that teenagers get it and when you grow into your 20s you grow out of it. Well mine hasn't gone away. Although I went for about 18 months about 2 years ago when it cleared up and I had virtually no trouble at all. I had been taking minocycline antibiotics for around 10 years previous to this and using retin-A as a topical but I ended up with very bad candida and decided enough
  7. There's a guy here in the UK called Patrick Holford who is a trusted name in the world of Nutrition and he recommends MSM along with a good quality multi vit, some good fatty acid caps and immune tablets. He also recommends it as a cream. I have tried the cream but not on my face yet. You can get it as a body cream and I did notice that my skin felt very smooth and silky after using it. Trouble is it's pretty expensive at about £8 for 100ml and when you're using it liberarally over your bod
  8. I hope it helps in some way too. We'll see. Thanks for your kind word though.
  9. Just wonering if any of you guys have heard of the ZENMED DermaCleanse System and if any of you have tried it? 13. First of all, I just want to say hi to everyone as I'm new here. This forum is superb and I'm looking forward to sharing some knowledge about acne and hopefully pick up some useful tips and recommendations. Currently I use Estee Lauder Maxmium cover foundation in light and it's very good at covering blemishes, hiperpigmentation and exsisting spots. However, it's not a perfect match for me colour wise and although it claims to be lightweight, it doesn't feel that way. I apply this a bit like a
  14. You could try Clinique's oil free formula. I have been using this for years now and it's non-acnegenic. I like the consistency, it's light and moisturising. Something that's hard to come by if you have problem skin but still need to moisturise. It's got Aloe Vera in it so it's calming and smells nice too. Having said that though, I have just ordered a DermaCleanse moisturiser with SPF 15 along with their cleanser and acne gel and their customer service promise that it can be used overnight as
