  1. I also posted this in the Prescription Meds section b/c I really need some advice, so if you already read this once, I apologize. Otherwise, please read on. I need some advice from all of you out there. I've read so many interesting posts on this board, and the information is really helpful, so I decided to share my story and hopefully get some advice from all of you. Here goes! I'm a 26 yr old male w/ what I think is mild acne, but it certainly bothers the hell out of me. I've never got
  2. I've never gotten cysts, but I always seemed to get whiteheads on my chin and forehead, maybe 3-4/month. They never really bothered me until I got older. This past April
  3. Many of you posted updates about your experience on the acne cure, but I haven't seen any updates in a couple of weeks. Could you please update me on how it's going and if any of you have switched to the maintenance program yet. Also, I'm starting the program on Sunday and I need some info on glycolic acid products. The only thing I can find is the generic Alpha Hydroxy brand and the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Lotion. As far as the AHA product, the Eckerd;s around here have 10% Lotion for
  4. THanks Markes! Did you ever experience the bumps b/f the cure routine? Also, did you use BP b/f the routine? I've been using Proactiv/Dan's routine for the last three months. It has made my pores smaller, but I still get 1-3 whiteheads a week either in my T zone or chin area. About a week ago, I started the SA and iced/BP portions of the routine. Except I'm still putting the BP on morning and night. I'm hoping that by doign this, I can avoid a major breakout when I start the full routine on
  5. Thanks for all the advice. I really appreciate it. I'm going to start the acne cure on Sunday. I bought and read the book, and it makes a lot of sense. I am waiting until Sunday b/c I have a party on Saturday and do not want to have any major breakouts b/f then. One question, I've seen a lot of debate on the glycolic acid. The only thing I could find around here was a generic Alpha Hydroxy Cream that has 10% glycolic acid. It is oil-free (so no petroleum) and the pharmacist told me that t
  6. I went to a regular doctor today (can't get in to see derm for while) and he prescribe Retin-A for my acne and told me to use it at night and keep using 2.5% BP in the morning. We also discussed the Acne Cure Book. He said he was not familiar w/ the book, but the method had sound medical reasoning behind it. He said that I could try the acne cure book before starting the Retin-A, but it was up to me. I have exactly 6 weeks before I satrt work at a very big Law Firm. I really need to be clea
  7. Adam, Thanks for the reply. If I do decide to try it, what GA should I use. There is no Walgreens around, and I have checked Walmart, K-mart and Eckerd and only found the Neutrogena Healthy Skin stuff that Lisa B uses (also has Vit C and E in it) and a red box at K-mart that says Alpha Hydroxy on it, but it does not list the percentage of GA. Any suggestions? Also, I'm interested in what some other people think. Please, any comments are greatly appreciated.
  8. I'm strongly considering trying the acne cure. Could any of you who have tried it please read my post ("Too much info...need help) and respond. It would be greatly appreciated. I'm desperate.
  9. I am a 25 yr old male. I have mild acne on the right side of my chin and occassionally in my T-Zone. I've tried several over the counter products. Most recently, I tried Proactiv. Although it made my pores a little smaller, my trouble area is still a problem (1-3 new whiteheads a week). I just cannot figure it out. Also, the Proactiv scrub proved a little too harsh for my face, so now I am using the Neutrogena wash w/ 2% SA. My current routine is this: Morning: 1. Shave 2. Put on SA F
  10. I'm new to this board and I've seen a lot of mixed feelings about proactiv. I'm 26 and have recently developed some reoccurring acne on my chin, above my lip, and on my forehead. After about 6 months, I got tired of spot-treating the zits and sprung for ProActiv. I've been on it now for 3 weeks. The first week, I thought it was a miracle worker. But then last week, I started getting some dark spots on my cheek. This week, I've developed some red spots on my cheek. At first, I thought they
