    Red mark treatment on accutane.

i used the acne free scar removal hydroquinone cream onto old redmarks and made sure to apply neosporin regularly to healing pimples/new redmarks while on accutane. i'm not sure how effective the results were, but it's been about a year now that my biggest breakout---the defining one for my eligibility to receive accutane---happened and about 9 months from when i started accutane (a 5 month course), and i am now only virtually clear of redmarks. of course the hawai'ian and jamaican sun helped
  2. i think that's what i may just start doing. i can live with minimal blackheads. i just hope the pimples don't continue to form after i discontinue the retin-a.
  3. my skin has been flawless since i've been off accutane, which is nearing 4 months. however, my nose is breaking out with the smallest pimples. after accutane, my dermatologist prescribed me retin-a only for my nose to combat the existing blackheads that were present after my course. i've been using the retin-a for about 3 months with a 1-week hiatus or so because of vacation and the added irritation of the sun. my nose has never been this bad in my life time. my nose regimine consists of:
  4. how long did you wait in between each session?
  5. currently, my regimen for combating blackheads is tretinoin .025% cream applied nightly to my nose. although the blackheads existing prior to my use of the tretinoin have not been purged, there has, i believe, been a reduction in the formation of new ones. my nose is generally pretty uneven due to these bastards, and my dermatologist considered a glycolic peel administered monthly to smoothen my skin and diminish blackheads. if this works like his optimism made me believe, then that, coupled wit

  7. if steroid injections most of the time completely dissipate infected cysts, why are they discouraged/not useful for non-infected cysts? i realize they fight inflammation, which comes with infection, but what happens to all the sebum and keratin lodged inside the cyst after the injection? i mean, it becomes COMPLETELY flat, and nothing is beneath the skin. so why wouldn't the same happen if injected into a non-infected cyst?

    repost to allow more replies

i'll paste what i wrote in my other thread. this is an update regarding that non-infected cyst. the derm gave me two options: excision or a 2 week course of keflex (followed by an excision if the keflex did not eliminate the cyst). the way he put it, an excision will invariably result in a scar. what would this scar look like, how deep, how bad? has anyone had an excision, and if so, are they worth it? he suggested the 2 week course of keflex and said this could possibly do away with the c
  9. see http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php?showtopic=97095 for background information. the derm gave me two options: excision or a 2 week course of keflex (followed by an excision if the keflex did not eliminate the cyst). the way he put it, an excision will invariably result in a scar. what would this scar look like, how deep, how bad? has anyone had an excision, and if so, are they worth it? he suggested the 2 week course of keflex. will this help any in a NON-INFECTED cyst? that's
