Not many people experience hair loss on Accutane. It's one of those rarer side-effects where when you hear about it occurring, you tend to question being on the medicine. Rest assured, not many people experience it. Secondly, Accutane treats the entire body. I too had pretty bad pimples on my back/chest/arms, and Accutane took care of everything. No worries.

How heavy are you? 20 mg a day is a fairly small dose for the acne that you describe. Given the right dosage, Accutane will clear those blackheads & whiteheads up within the course of treatment.

I get off Accutane in 3 days - haven't had any hair loss.

After 3 days on Accutane, you really shouldn't be seeing *that* drastic of a difference in skin dryness. My guess is that you're possibly looking for signs that the stuff is working, and there's nothing wrong with that. If your hands get chapped or dry, try Cetaphil lotion.

Hey - I finally decided to start Accutane after months of procrastination. I take 40mg in the morning and 20mg at night - I weigh 70kg. Basically, the only side-effect that I have so far is headaches and a slight pressure in my sinus area (most likely due to the headaches). My dermatologist says this is a normal reaction to the first week of treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Has anyone else experienced similar problems in their first week of treatment?

I'll pick up the SPF moisturizer tomorrow, and use the cetaphil cleanser in place of the neutrogena bar. Should I put the retin-a micro on before or after the moisturizer at night?

MORNING: Neutrogena Acne Soap Neutrogena Multi Vitamin Acne Treatment EVENING: Neutrogena Acne Soap Cetaphil Cleanser Retin-A Micro (on spots) Neutrogena Skin Clearing Moisturizer My skin is basically cleared of acne, but i have seemingly "layers" of red marks. No scarring, though. Approximately how long does the Multi Vitamin stuff take to notice a large difference? (been on it for a week)

I've had various problems over the years with acne - most notably a general redness on my face. The actual acne faded, for the most part, approx. 1 year ago, and my red marks are slowly fading - I was recently prescribed Rosula for my facial redness. Has anyone had any experience with this topical medicine?
