  1. Does anybody have any experience with using tea tree oil for acne while being pregnant? I've been using the Dessert Essence Blemish Touch stick which has tea tree oil, witch hazel and some other natural ingredients and it's been working on speeding up the drying of the few spots I still get. Recently, I've broken out more on my chin and I am also in my first trimester of pregnancy. Opinions seem to be mixed when I do a search online, so I was looking for anyone that has actually used this pro
  2. Mine really started to clear around the 4th month. I have an old post in this forum somewhere if you want to read more. Hang in there! I hope my skin doesn't get any worse going off it and being pregnant. I've been on them for almost 10 years, so maybe they are the real cause of my acne in the first place, since I never really had any in high school or before I went on them.
  3. I've been on Yasmin for 10 months now and it's been working great for what seemed to be hormonal acne for me (chin and jawline breakouts) I'll get an occasional pimple on my chin once or twice a month, but not too bad...and way better than it used to be! I'm going to be going off Yasmin next month to start trying to have a baby...yay! I was just wondering if anyone has any experiences with going off bcp and what happened to their skin? Then, when you were pregnant how was your skin? Does it
  4. Yes, I did have some reduction in oilyness. It's kind of hard to tell now because it's so hot and I work outside, so I am usually a little sweaty. I noticed a difference though a month or two into the Yasmin though.
  5. Just an update since I haven't been around in a while... My face is looking SO much better! I hardly ever get any acne spots and when I do it's small and goes away in a couple of days...they used to stay there for a week at least and be inflammed and red. I am so happy with Yasmin! I hope everyone else is seeing results too! Christine
  6. I did get some similar breakouts in different areas, but none were really bad, sounds like what you have too. I got a few on my forehead and my neck area and still do occasionally. I never used to get them there. I also did get a few on my cheeks. I'm still pretty clear, get an a small one every once in a while still, but definitely much better than before Yasmin! Christine
  7. You are still the beautiful woman he fell in love with. He fell in love with the woman you are inside. I had some acne on my wedding day 5 years ago and thought it was really obvious, but I didn't let it ruin the day for me. My acne unfortunately has gotten worse in the last 2-3 years and my husband has been really greath through it all. I finally switched to a different birth control pill about 4 months ago and have been using Paula's Choice for the last couple of months and my skin is fina
  8. I feel the same way....none of my friends or co-workers have acne and I feel like I'm the only one. It's hard to go out and feeling like I have to cover my face with makeup (which I hate anyways) just to run to the store. I'm looking forward to the day that I can just go and not have to worry about my face anymore. It is nice to have a place to go that people understand where you are coming from and are going throught the same things.
  9. I use the blemish touch stick from desert essence from trader joe's for spot treating. I used to use bp but I like the tea tree oil much better. The smell is a little strong, but you can dilute it too.
  10. sufferinginpa, My gyno said to give it 6 months so I think that's a good plan. I'm glad I switched to Yasmin from ortho tricyclen lo. It's definitely important to be patient, but believe me I know it is hard to wait! Hang in there everyone!
  11. Sorry for your daughters acne struggles. It is nice that you are trying what you can to help her out and it is obviously stressful and painful for you too. I kind of agree with you about the too many products thing. I didn't really breakout in high school at all, one or two here and there I guess. Never really did anything for cleansing my face or wore much makeup so didn't worry about it. I had my main breakout later on in college and into my late 20s, and now my early 30s My derm pu
  12. Just thought I'd show some pictures of how my face is progressing on Yasmin, so other women can see and keep up hope. I started on this pill in early Feb. and I'm now on my 4th pack and I am finally seeing a reduction in inflammatory acne. I had been breaking out on my chin and lower cheek/jawline area. I started using Paula's Choice BHA around 2 months ago as well and I think that has also helped. I've had only 3 spots come up and that was last weekend and they've pretty much gone down
  13. I had been on Ortho tri cylen Lo for a few years and my acne got worse in the last 2 years I'd say. I switched about 4 months ago to Yasmin and it does seem to be working. My face is less oily now. I'm also using Paula's Choice 2% BHA now too which is probably helping. Good luck to you!
  14. Muffet - I hear ya on the 2 steps forward and 1 back. I've been using the 2% BHA for about 2 months, and although my skin is better, it's still not what I've been longing for. I'm still getting inflammatory acne on my chin and I've recently had a few on my cheeks, where I usually don't break out. I think it's just the BHA working all the gunk out of my pores and that it's just a slow process. Just when I think I won't get any more big zits, I feel one or two popping up and it's so frustrati
