  1. Again, if anyone here has previously used Retisol-A or anything similar to such then I would greatly appreciate there help on this one.
  2. Hey all, After a three month course of Accutane to cure my acne I unfortunately have a large reddish area around my mouth made up of a variety of marks differing in intensity and shape. My dermatologist has prescribed me retisol-A to help fade the red marks and I was just wondering, do you apply the cream to only the red marks or to only the related area? I mean should I only apply it to the red-mark infested area around my mouth or to my entire face? I would appreciate any input from anyone
  3. Taking a hot shower makes you red marks a whole lot redder. I dont know about changing seasons affecting red marks though danm, I'm currently on Accutane and it pisses me off that I can't do these awesome glycolic acid peels I hear so much about. I am however using emu oil but I feel as if it is making me break out. Can it do that if you use too much or something? edit: sorry. Didn't mean to post twice

  5. Take a look at these threads I started earlier - they deal with the same issue: http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php...topic=60290&hl= http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php...topic=61833&hl=
  6. To Simplyme: No, as far as I know it is not okay to use BP while on Accutane. Accutane makes your skin far too sensitive to use it! This also means you cannot follow Dan's Regimen while on Accutane. To clpersonal: A regimen that might work for you would be: a healthy lifestyle, appropriate supplements (vitamins, oils, etc), and no fragrance, non-comedogenic cleansers and moisturisers (think Cetaphil!). Use BP if you want, but supposedly it decreases the rate at which red marks heal so if y
  7. Thanks for the responses. As far as permanent side-effects goes even the creator of this website said he has had post accutane joint pain that won't go away. I heard that if I quit now I may get acne again. Right now I'm only concerned about red marks. My skin tone around my mouth is completely uneven with that of the rest of my face and it looks awful!!!! I don't think accutane is going to help me with my red marks.
  8. Thanks for the support Person24, it made me feel better about my current predicament. I don't suppose it would be too much to ask for you to share what you are doing to treat your red marks right now?
  9. Accutane got rid of my active acne after taking it for two months but the initial breakout has left huge red areas all around my mouth. So much redness and it could be a long time before they go away, I'm so sad please pity me
  10. This question has come up before and the answer is, "no, taking drugs wont effect your bloodtests or your ability to get accutane""
  11. Hey I wanted to know your guys opinion/advice I've been using Accutane for 2 months now and I have no more active acne (just a ton of dark red marks ). Anyways now I was thinking of quitting and just starting the clear skin regimen to prevent breakouts. The thing is I still have most of my third month prescription and I can't see my derm for over a month (he doesnt know I'm thinking of quitting"). I know I shouldn't stop early but I was only taking it to soften the pre-existing acne I
  12. Hey I've been on Accutane for about 2 months now and my facial acne has just about gone away. However I have horrible red marks. I was wondering how I should treat these red marks keeping in mind that I am still on Accutane and thus cannot use some of the most popular methods like Benzol Peroxide
  13. I'm sorry but the only way anyone can help you is if you post some photographs
  14. Our ability to think ahead and examine things critically gives us more knowledge of our present scenario and allows us to envision the future as well. But seeing as how you will probably not understand this as you clearly didn't the first time I mentioned this then I will draw a out a common scenario for your hopeful enlightenment: A young man is hungry. He opens the fridge and looks for food (Mr. Mike interrupts:) "Ah ha! you shot yourself in the foot, for there is no human instinct that ma
  15. oh hey, sorry it took me so long I'm now using Dove Gentle Exfoliating Body Wash and it is doing a great job. Even though it is kind of a drying Body Wash my back seems to be able to sustain it well even while on Accutane. In fact, the mix of Accutane and the slightly drying body wash is destroying my bacne fast. btw, "searchingforthesolution" you rock
  16. everything we do or think is a result of our instincts. The reason it may not seem this way with humans is because we are intelligent enough to think ahead of the present and examine things critically. This intelligence adds a fourth dimension to predicting human behavior in comparison with other animals but none-the-less the sometimes long and complicated chain of our actions and thoughts comes from our subconscious thought.
  17. It is not a matter of being superficial or not. Human beings are animals and thus the laws of Nature still apply to us. Any sign of unhealthiness whether it is minor (like bacne) or major (like Leprosy) is subconsciously a turn-off in any human being due to our natural desires to procreate with the healthiest specimen possible because such healthiness implies superior genes increasing the chance of healthy offspring.
  18. uh, sorry no, but body acne is a turn-off. Whether or not it could end a relationship depends on the people, circumstances, etc.
  19. you know, if I was depressed like you I wouldn't have had the motivation to write a short story about my feelings on the internet. You see, what you did requires motivation and depression = no motivation
  20. I'm surprised to see that the people who have finished their accutane cycles haven't already asked their doctors when they can start drinking again....
  21. hey, thanks for the support everyone! From the looks of all the posts the general consensus seems to be that the best products for washing your back while on Accutane are gentle cleansers that also moisturize or at least don't dry out skin. I'll try out some products/techniques (like a loofa) and post my experience up in a week or so
  22. cool, glad to see that you've found something that fits so well with the regime (no pun intended)
