  1. I've taken probiotics for years now, but it hasn't made any difference on my skin, unfortunately. I take the PB8 one that you can get on Amazon, which is supposedly a highy recommended one.
  2. I took Saw Palmetto a few years ago for my skin, and I broke out in a rash all over my throat where my lymph nodes are. It did not agree with me at all. But my bf took it, and he was just fine.
  3. The two products that have worked...or at least helps is mIlk of magnesia (but that's not recommended, so I've only used it a few times) and Estee Lauder's pore minimizer lotion. I was surprised at how effective Estee Lauder's lotion was for my skin at keeping oil at bay. Other than that, only Accutane has ever really made a huge difference as far as oil, which I won't be going back on. I had a good experience with Accutane, but I won't go back on it just to treat oil
  4. Thank you guys for reading. I'm sure I was allergic to it, and I also had to take a couple days off from work because it was so horrible. I gave the Saw palmetto to my boyfriend, and he is fine on it. (It helps with balding so I gave it to him and he excitedly took it lol) I have tried spearmint tea for a year now, I still drink it even though it doesn't help my oily skin. I also drink green tea everyday and eats veggies/fruits, but nothing really helps my skin. I've had oily skin since I was 1
  5. This is a difficult one for me. I've eaten healthy for long periods of time, but I didn't notice any changes in my skin. I could eat junk food for awhile and not get any zits, or I could. It really was just 50/50. While I eat healthy to feel better, I can't say I've noticed a dramatic effect in cutting out carbs, dairy, etc... The only thing that ever helped my acne permanently is Accutane. I know it's not highly recommended, but at the age of 22, I went on it for my moderate acne, and it got ri
  6. I'll tell you what I've tried that has NOT worked. I'm 28 now. When I was 19, I tried high doses of B5, didn't work and it made me very lethargic and tired all the time - wasn't worth it. Then I was 22 I went on Accutane. I never had severe acne, but I had persistent moderate acne where I've tried every topical prescription, natural topicals, antibiotics, etc..nothing. Accutane was awesome and the only thing that helped my oil (I wouldn't recommend going on it to treat oil though, it's
  7. I haven't been on this forum in years, but I just wanted to post briefly that I had purchased the standardized Saw Palmetto from GNC to combat my oily skin after reading about it on this forum and elsewhere online, that when I woke up the next day, I had the worst rash all over my neck. After 2 more pills, it got even worse, and I knew right away that it was the Saw Palmetto. I know that many people have a positive experience, but I just wanted to share the downside of it as well. I took off of
  8. one more thing, I noticed the user reviews for the pca pigment gel are HIGHER for the one with HQ. Of course, there are always risks with 2% Hydroquinone, so it's up to you to decide if it's worth getting. The one without HQ still has great reviews but not as great as the one with HQ in it.
  9. Hi guys! I'm glad some of you guys have tried this and think it's just as great as I do, this product is awesome. I use their cleanser too just to try out their other products, but I definitely recommend the PCA Pigment Gel. If you're looking for one without hydroquinone, just type in "hq free" or i tried to find a link for you guys. Right now I use it with HQ, but next month I'm going to order it without hq. Anyway, here's the one WITHOUT hydroquinone: http://skincarerx.com/PCA-Skin-%28pHaze-13
  10. So, I've been trying a lot of different products from SkinCareRX, Drugstore.com, etc...for products to help lighten my red marks, and FINALLY, after a lot of great reviews, I finally bought one. It's by a brand called PCA, and the product I'm specifically talking about is PCA Skin Pigment Gel, you can get it hydroquinone free, but the one I bought has HQ in it. It's around $40, but it's totally worth it. If you want to read more, check out the reviews at those sites, a lot of people gave it five
  11. I had accutane done two years ago. I still get zits, and have lots of redmarks, uneven skin, and boxcar scars. Anyway, I want to do Lasik but my eye doctor said my eyes are way too dry (from accutane) so I have punctal plugs, use non-preservative eye drops, take flax seed, fish oil, and nothing helps. So he put me on Restasis so that my eyes can be less dry, so there will be less complications for eye surgery. Has anybody had dry eyes from accutane and had lasik done? My eyes are pretty dry, re
  12. I'm also an asian half breed, not that it makes much difference lol but I just noticed yours said korean half breed. Anyway, I have redmarks t hat lasted around 3 years and are still going to away SLOWLY. I think they do eventually go away but some people have to suffer longer.I have been using Kojic acid I got from eBay, it's not a huge difference, but I'm using that and Neutrogena anti wrinkle anti blemish cream, it has retinol, so I think the combo of that and with time, it starts to heal.
  13. It's been a whole year since I finished Accutane and I'm still having trouble wearing contacts. I tried so many different ones and my eyes still get irritated and red. This is awful! I wear glasses at home, but when I go out I wear contacts. Anyone else having problems like this? I read online that a lot of people can't wear contacts anymore and have dry eye syndrome. Please help with your experiences post-accutane and dry eyes.
  14. after my course, my derm gave me a prescription for Tazorac and I used it for a few months and it was the worst thing ever. That stuff made me breakout bad so I stopped using it and my skin looked way better and jsut stuck with more gentle stuff. I might give this Neutrogena thing a few more weeks and if it still breaks me out im going to throw it away, and don't know what I'll try next.
  15. So it's been 9 months since I finished Accutane and it was great! Clear skin (still have lots of redmarks) but no breakouts during accutane or after until now...I'm getting really big ones that take a long time to go away even when treating them with acne products. I don't know if the Accutane is wearing off, but I'm getting paranoid, it's been weeks of brutal acne on my face. It's difficult from going from no acne at all, to big ones that take a week to go away. I recently bought Neutrogena Ant
  16. It's been almost 4 months since I finished my accutane course. Lately, I'll get a zit or two on my face, so I'm paranoid that in a couple more months, it might start to get worse. Anyway, I still have tons of redmarks on my face. Ive been on Tazorac post-tane, but anyone else have lots of redmarks, or starting to get some breakouts post-tane? I can't afford to get ONE zit becaues my redmarks take like over a year to heal...so I'm worried!
  17. Yeah, this is quite depressing. When I was on accutane, I never got a zit. It was almost a miracle for me, I felt like being on accutane, I was invincible from getting anymore pimples. Once I came off of accutane, I broke out a week later then stopped and now I'm breaking out again. I dont like the redmarks it leaves me because mine take years to heal, so I can't really afford to keep breaking out. You would think after accutane, we wouldn't need to be putting on topicals. Is it ever going to en
  18. It's been 6 weeks post-accutane. I've also been on the topical, Tazorac, for 5 weeks, and I'm breaking out on my forehead. Is it an IB? I noticed my face is VERY oily today, like how it used to be before accutane. I miss being on tane without a shiny face, minus the side effects. Anyway, anybody else being put on Tazorac after accutane and breaking out?

  20. My bf took accutane over a year ago and he breaks out all the time. He used to have severe acne, and although it's not severe anymore, he still gets many a day. I on the other hand, still continue to have eye problems (can't wear contacts), and I have to sleep for a minimum of 10 hours (I used to only need 7-8). I'm glad I took accutane, but I'm hoping I'll be able to wear my eye contacts again.
  21. It's been a month since I stopped taking accutane. I took it for 5 months, and I still can't wear contacts. I have researched it online and some people still have difficulty wearing contacts after accutane. Did anybody start wearing their contacts comfortably after accutane? If so, how long did you have to wait? I have read some people took accutane 3 years before and still continue to wear glasses instead of their contacts. I really hate wearing my glasses, I want to wear my contacts again so
  22. i didn't want to deal with taking anymore medicine for my face after accutane but my derm urged me to take tazorac for at least 6 months so im taking that now. i heard it gives bad IB so i hope I don't get that. I like to take the natural way but I want to believe what he says although I am very skeptical about what derms tell me since they're pushed to give us meds, but I want to take it for 12 weeks and see if the Tazorac will do my any good. I broke out after a week finishing my accutane. My
  23. it's been slowly coming back for me as well. I just finished accutane over a week ago and I started breaking out like small zits under my skin like 50 of them on my forehead and many on my nose. They went away farely fast, but it's very discouraging. I started taking Tazorac for maintanence so I hope that goes well. but very depressing...I kept thinking I wouldn't have to worry about acne for awhile...
  24. Yes! I was very surprised I never had an initial breakout. I had moderately severe acne according to my derm but since starting my course and all the way til I was finished, I only had 2-3 zits the whole time. I was so impressed, however, now the thing I am worried about is breaking out again. After a week I finished the course I started getting some zits. grrr...but hopefully you won't have an IB, it depends on the individual, but I didn't do anything special to prevent an IB, I just took it as
  25. I just started using Tazorac cream .05% tonight. After reading a bunch of reviews on the internet, it seems like this is more risky than hopeful. I'm already getting breakouts one week post-tane and my doctor told me to go on this cream for 6 months. Did anybody try this after accutane? What were ur experiences? I heard the initial breakouts are bad, but for me, I get redmarks that last for years and I just can't afford to be getting these extra breakouts before it gets better, but I also cant
