  1. When I pop a pimple, all I do is wash the area very well & then immediately apply differin over it. Within a couple of days the scar & the pimple is usually gone. Hope this helps. I always use calamine lotion for concealing, it works out very well for me. I tried Neutrogena liquid-powder makeup & I didn't like it. It makes my face very oily & its perpetually shining.

  4. Hi Neal, Lets hope ur appointement with ur derm has some solution to ur acne problem. I really hope all of us could find a 'CURE' for acne, which I think is remotely possible Anyway, goodluck!
  5. Hi I presume u have a causacian(spelling?) skin , in that case why don't u try calamine lotion & then a power make up like l'oreal mattique (my favourite) over it. Calamine just covers up all the red spots & this power make up will give a natural, powdery finish to your skin. This is what I use & it has worked out well for me. But make sure that ur calamine lotion is water based & not oil based. Calamine also acts to help reduce the redness of the spots, my derm has prescribed i
  6. Hi Newcastlegirl, My acne is totally hormone related. I consulted a gyno & a derm. My gyno says that I have polycystic ovaries which will cause high horomonal imbalance. So in another month she will be giving me some hormone tablets & I've told this to my derm & they both seem to be working well with me. Just make sure that u go to a gyno before u are sure that ur acne is definitely caused by hormones. Oral antibiotics usually cause me nausia. Are u sure u are not allergic to eryth
  7. hi lolobaby, Do u take lemon juice in empty stomach ? Won't it get acidic when u take in empty stomach. Please let me know. Its really very nice to know such success stories. My best wishes to you.
  8. Hi newcastlegirl, Some people cannot tolerate erythromycin well. I believe clarithromycin is very well tolerated, thats what I am using. But if you are allergic to erythromycin then you cannot use the latter too. I am not allergic to erythromycin so I am using a topical clarithromycin & I don't take tablets. If you do take tablets pl. take it after your meal. Also take a multivitamin along with it. Hope this helps. Goodluck!
  9. Hi Njacobs, Thank you so much for the information. I'll see if I can order these things or check if they are available in my country. I am also using clarithromycin gel formula & also calamine lotion. I feel that calamine lotion dries up excess oil & my derm says that it helps reduce the redness left by acne. Calamine lotion has not caused any acne for me so far. Have you ever tried this ? Usage of differin is one of the best things I've ever done. It just does not leave any scar behin
  10. Hi charisma, why would your derm recommend cartisone, its really harsh & for some people it turns the skin patchy. Please make sure that you are not allergic to it & moreover it has lots of side effects. Check with your derm again. Goodluck!
  11. Hi, I am a 23 yr old female. Is there any tablets used as a supplement like any vitamins or something. My derm gave me some multivitamin which concentrates more on iron. He told me to have it after dinner. Will that be good enough ? or should I take centrum ? The curd or yogurt which we use does not mention whether it has "live active cultures". Thanks for your reply.
  12. Hi, Fucidin is available in India. It contains sodium fucidate. My father used it for a rash & it worked out really well. It is supposed to be used with some other cream I am not sure though. . Let us know how it works for you. Goodluck!
  13. Hi, Clarithromycin is a marcolade antibiotic which is similiar to erythromycin. I find it working well for me. I am quite apprehensive that one gets immune to antibiotics. But my derm said that such a thing is not possible. I am just treating my acne externally, but I have some internal problems that are causing this hormonal imbalance. Anyway, thanks for the information.
  14. Hi I remember u saying that u are using clindamycin during the day & differin in the night. My doc has also advised me something similiar, I am using clarithromycin & differin. Did you experience any side effects in using an antibiotic ? Since mine is a hormonally influenced acne, my derm says that he cannot give any tablets & that only my gyno has to help me balance the horomonal change. Thanks!
  15. Hi, Its kinda like cysts that are formed due to hormonal imbalance. It is a common case for many ladies. Some symptoms are obesity, hair loss, acne etc. Although I have only acne, I somehow found out the culprit behind my acne. This leads to irregular periods. You'll get a lot of information reg. this in yahoo or google search. If anyone in this board suffering from this, pl. let me know. This acne can only be controlled by regularising the hormones. Thanks!
