  1. I had no problems with breakouts and I am very acne prone when it comes to makeup.

  3. I had CO2 done in 1997 which did zero for my scars, left me red for months, enlarged my pores and as an added bonus left me with some new rolling scars.
  4. That's fine if you want to continue the discussion, I'm just trying to keep it from falling into the realm of one personal attack after another. I have always been interested in the volumes of healthy debates acne.org seems to spawn.
  5. How about we all just agree to disagree on this subject, this is going nowhere. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and should not have to feel belittled for their beliefs, whatever they may be..alternative or conventional. I have been in the medical profession for a long time and I know there is good in both fields. Personally my health has improved with alternative therapies. I am just glad that people find methods that give them relief from the pain of acne.
  6. I eat 6 meals a day spaced about 3 hours apart. Lots of water, fruit, veggies and high quality protein. I take a high quality fish oil prior to working out, Tonalin and Emergen C which is a Vitamin C supplement. Weight training 3 days a week with high intensity cardio 5 times/week (treadmill and rower). I highly endorse the body for life plan and also Tom Venuto's Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle. There is also some really good information at Buff Mother. Good luck!

  8. I have very acne prone skin. These are the ones that have worked for me in the past. No Problmes: Clarins loose, Estee Lauder Lucidity, Becca, Origins, Prescriptives Custom Blend, Clinique, Lancome Photogenic, MAC, Bobbi Brown Problems: Dior (the scent was way too much), Chanel, Laura Mercier, NARS (caused me to break out just a little..probably due to the corn starch, this is a wonderful powder), T. LeClerc (no breakouts, just very drying) Hope this helps.
  9. I used to go to the beds when I was in high school and had zero problems with breakouts. Now, for some strange reason, I break out like mad if my skin is unprotected in the regular sun (If I have on sunscreen I have no problems) or a tanning bed. My skin changed after having so many surgeries...go figure.
  10. Do a test spot first to see how your skin reacts.
  11. ^ You are correct..the white frosted hole was directly after the Dr. applied the TCA. The pics missing in the first part of the thread causes some confustion. In the end the area became wider. When I went to Dr. Monheit for a consult I didn't know he was going to do the cross that day, so I didn't have a pre-op photo of that particular scar. The one posted above was very similar to the one that was crossed. This is the area just before the first set of floats in '04.
  12. http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php...38&hl=TCA+cross ^ Tells of my TCA experience. Pics are missing in the first couple of pages, but there are more further into the thread. Bottom line: boxcar did fill in some, but the area became much wider. I eventually had it punch floated.
  13. Check in the Makeup Forum...at the top there is a pinned thread about guys and makeup/coverup. Hope this helps!
  14. Rolling Scars: Dermabrasion: Dr. Dixon..who was a plastic.. (now retired) and Dr. Y Ice Picks/Boxcar Revision: Punch grafts/ Punch floats: Dr. Dixon (see above) and Dr. Y Boxcar: TCA CROSS: Dr. Monheit (Birmingham, AL) My scar ended up being shallow, but wider in diameter. I eventually had it punch floated. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
  15. Hi there, Overall all I would say your skin looks very good. Nice even tone and texture. I see the scars on the right side in the front view. From the side..distance shot, they are really hard to see. You don't appear to be breaking out much, if any. I didn't look through your entire album..have you been documenting all along?

Also make sure you take the time to read them all the way through, som
  17. The beads in this wash should not be harsh enough to cause you any problems. As long as it is not irritating your skin (making it red, burn, peel, etc) you shouldn't worry.
  18. NO! I wouldn't advise it at all. You could end up with a really nasty infection. Let it heal!!
  19. Everything is looking very well. I seemed to have healed quicker this time around. I wore makeup today with no problems. I have been keeping zinc oxide on them for the past few days and I think that has helped. I'll post some updated pics in a couple of days. Thanks for checking on me.

  21. I would recommend going to someone who professionally provides this service.
  22. I enhanced one set of the pics (focus, color correction, auto contrast, auto levels) w/ adobe to get a bit of a better look. I would say the angle is slightly off in the picture, but it is obvious that the scars are softer and the skin looks better overall. Many of the scars do not appear as deep as they did before. I wonder how long after the last treatment the photo was taken...giving time for any swelling to subside. There are also a couple of place in the after pic where there is a bit of a
  23. It depends on the type of scars you have, floats/grafts work for ice pick or box car type scars. Usually there is some resurfacing needed after the floats...ie spot dermabrasion, fraxel, etc.
