  1. This is a quick note from someone who used to be obsessed with acne and let it control their life. Looking back six years after tane provided me with some relief, and after four years of therapy, I can see a few things now that I wish I had known. 1. My problems with acne, that is the problems that it caused for my life, wellbeing, and happiness, were almost entirely psychological 2. I was responsible for a significant amount of my visible acne due to picking it constantly. I did this because
  2. Just a note to say that oatmeal is a cheap, scientifically proven cleanser to use instead of soap on your face. It smells wonderful when you apply it too. Search the web for evidence of it being good for your skin if you're interested. It absorbs impurities or something. But it does leave my skin feeling soft fresh and clean, and I reckon it's healthier than abrasive soaps and gels.
  3. Anybody know about this? I've found contradictory evidence of the effects of smoking regularly and inhaling on skin, but I'm talking about occasional smoking without any intentional inhaling; maybe one cigarette a month. Does anyone have any info to cite or any personal scientific observations? I don't smoke at all normally because of the potential effect on my skin, but I'd like to know if smoking even one cigarette very occasional should be avoided for my skin. Currently have occasional mil
  4. its a pretty tricky subject in UK, apparrently GPs can prescribe it if they want to, but they usually view it as too risky and always refer you to a derm. Even some derms however dont do it i have learned, and all that do have to be associate with an outlet. For instance, i could only get my tane from the chemist store associated with my derm, and they only gave it to patients of his there - so its pretty tightly controlled. However, go to a private derm, pay all the fees, dont let them get away
  5. well, i would advise trying pirition (or another anitihistamine - used for eczma and swelling etc.), or if that is unsuccessful you can try and get prescribed some betnovate or other steriod. Steroids are strong stuff but are usually very successful with anything itchy, rash like etc., talk toa GP, they can prescribe all this stuff. Also try dropping the word betnovate in so they cant not even address a stronger option.

  7. The #1 concern regarding tane is always PREGNANCY in my opinion, if you have to kill people to get in date reliable certified birth control measures (or use protection?!) then do so. The consequences of taking risks regarding this matter are very serious. Im sure if you wanted you could report this pharmacist as it is a serious offence to give misinformation about drugs, or to promote use of drugs which have expired and are no longer guaranteed by the manufacturer as a result. DONT RISK IT for
  8. well as you probably know, tane make the skin very delicate and makes healing of any sort take a long long time. I've never heard of a product that can help this - its a genetic ting as far as i can see, tane changes your dna so i'm told. moisturisers (non oily) are probably your only help, seeing as you're on tane and its effective you shouldnt need to worry about it clogging pores. Other than that i could only suggest using cover up of some sort, I find clinique concealer very good, but expe
  9. well, I had exactly the same problem, my mom made it as hard as she could for me to get on tane (like it wasnt already hard enough already) and when I managed it without any of her help or funding (I went private without insurance) all she did was tell me that i was stupid, mad, shortsighted, childish etc.. However, I would try to show your parents that of anyone in your house you are surely the best informed about its side effects, and you fear them most, or at least you will be the one suffer
  10. well i'd say hes way underdosing you. I mean, why are you on 40mg anyway? I was 10st on my first course and i had 2 weeks at 40 then the rest of my course on 75, and he said to me that on more severe cases he would give more than double that dose for as long as he thought. On my second course I didnt even have any blood tests, the side effects off this are somewhat overstated In my opinion. You get a very good idea what efffect the drug is having on your body as a whole from the dryness of your
  11. Hi, I used to be a very regular visitor to these forums, and I used to suffer terribly with acne, it controlled my life. I just thought that I would make a post to tell you all what happened during my courses (!) of tane, and my opinion as a result of this drug, as I know people here are always asking for advice. Well, I had to have two courses in the end, as I had a sever relapse two or so months after my first course (which completely devastated me, I nearly dropped out of university as a r

  13. sounds like you are a perfect candidate for accutane, DONT SUFFER ANY MORE!! dont bother with any of that topical shit. benzoyl peroxide only creates a vicious cycle, and as you say makes your face worse than just having acne. You can buy accutance here: http://www.orderpharma.com/searchact.asp?keywords=roaccutane I tanned before going on tane and it didnt really help at all, just made it greasy afterwards, and as was mentioned you cant tan on tane (or even expose yourself to direct sunlight).
  14. i used zineryt loads and it did f*ck all, like all other topical solutions. I applied it liberally all over my face, with the only effect being that i became unkissable as it tastes so bad. All i can say is that i hope it works better for all you guys than it did for me.
  15. well, to get back on topic, i had the same problem before, and the suggestions already made did the trick for me, i.e., keep the lights v. low/off, and keep her attention somewher else, so its probably best to already have your finger on 'the button' before you take your shirt off, just in case, and then she'll be so happy and relaxed afterwards she wont care at all. Personally i dont think bringing it up as a subject before your first sex with her is necessarily a good idea as it can be a real
