  1. Thanks for the tip, though I have tried that. Maybe I put too much on? Oh well.
  2. Hi all, First off, if this is a commonly asked question, please excuse my ignorance! #-o My problem is when I put on benzoyl peroxide cream in the morning, it balls up/comes off when I put my face makeup on, no matter how carefully I apply them. Anyone else have this problem, and any advice? TIA!
  3. Well, while the regimen is a great skin care routine for acne, it isn't 100% effective. It clears me up considerably, but nowhere near completely, and it looks like it may be the same for you. Since it seems you've given the regimen enough time to see if it works, you either have to deal with the lessened amount of pimples you get on the regimen or switch to another skin care regimen. But I really can't think of any OTC stuff more effective than benzoyl peroxide. (as for me, I'm trying a prescri
  4. Yep, lucky you, you just don't get acne there! Same thing with me, my hair is always hanging on my forehead and I never get a single pimple there either.
  5. I started out with mild acne when I was about 12, though by high school it was moderate and it is still that way now and I am nearly 20. Only just now have I started to get serious and try more than OTC stuff, since it seems this isn't going away anytime soon.
  6. I have REALLY pale skin (and wearing sunscreen daily doesn't help any, either! ](*,) ), and I have found all of Maybelline's face make-up to be too dark. But, I haven't tried any of it for a couple years, so that could have changed. Currently I use Cover Girl Fresh Look foundation in Ivory, it is *very* light with no rosy or orange tint at all. Goes on smooth and doesn't break me out.
  7. My fave mascaras: Cover Girl Washable Waterproof Mascara Maybelline Great Lash Both are inexpensive, but wonderful! For eyeliners and eyeshadow, expensive is not necessarily better. The $4 one is probably just as good at the $15 one, from my experience. But, that being said, I like: Avon Glimmersticks eyeliner -- great colors and a convenient application Eyeshadow -- heck, anything in a powder, I go by color, not brand. tip: to make your eyes look more "open", apply a very pal
  8. Hi all, Just curious, what strength and brand Benzoyl Peroxide do you all use/where do you get it? And do any of you get your 2.5% BP OTC from your pharmacy?
  9. Yeah, Neutrogena's on the spot treatment is kinda pricey for its size, I was just using it as an example of a 2.5% BP product. . Thats why I get generic BP in my pharmacy's OTC section, it is about $4 for a good sized 2 oz. (51g) tube and comes in 2.5, 5, and 10%. Maybe you could check your pharmacy for some cheap BP too, depending on your health plan. But heck, I suppose you could just use less of the 10% cream and add some moisturizer, though if you're gonna mix 'em in a bottle I don't know h
  10. Thanks for the link! Its nice to know that celebrities get zits too. (misery loves company and all, y'know ) Celebrities always look so different when you see them in "non-publicity" type photos. As Cindy Crawford once said, "Even I don't look like Cindy Crawford before hair and make-up"!
  11. Cleanser: Suave Foaming Face Wash. Gets my skin very clean but it is so gentle! Moisturizer: Banana Boat Faces sunblock lotion. Goes on nice and smooth, and its non-greasy. Good luck finding one for you.
  12. The 10% stuff just contains a higher concentration of benzoyl peroxide (4x more), and so is MUCH more drying! I suppose you could "dilute" your 10% creme with a moisturizer or something so it wouldn't be as strong, though it'd be easier to just buy some 2.5%. Neutrogena's on the spot acne treatment has this concentration, though I buy mine cheap at my pharmacy's OTC section. HTH!
