it's temporary, those drugs are accelerating the growth of your acne to get it out of your skin. The initial breakout is always the hardest, but it goes away eventually. Stick with it

Try mineral makeup... I've used Bare Escentuals for over a year now and I love it, but it tends to make my skin a little too dewey. I recently bought some aromaleigh and that doesn't get nearly as shiney, but I found that it doesn't cover like I like. I didn't get the highest level of coverage for them, so that's probably why. They're both all totally safe for your skin, I personally think that you'll never go back to using liquid once you've used the mineral stuff. www.bareesentuals.com

Any medication that works to internally solve the acne problem with give you an initial breakout. It's clearing up what you've got lurking underneath the surface and helping to keep the new skin clean. The key to ANY treatment is patience. I saw on another thread that someone gave up on Tazorac because it made them break out. Well that's what it's supposed to do! It gives you the initial breakout to get rid of what's waiting there.

Carley's Moisturizer Update
LAGirley replied to njacobs's topic in Over-the-counter acne medications and products
Well, if there's one thing I've realized from reading this site, it's that different things work for different people. I haven't noticed any new whiteheads, but then I'm using tazorac as well. For my money it's been a great help with the dryness and it really seems to clear me up more rapidly. I'm sorry it didn't work as well for you though, it really is a great product -

How long did you use it? I've been using it for about a week or so and I absolutely love the stuff. -
Will this work? Please Reply....

I believe what you're taking is an anti-biotic, and while those can work temporarily, your body will build an immunity to it, and it will cease to become effective. Talk to your doctor about it and see what they think before you take more. If it's not an anti-biotic then I'd STILL talk to your doctor, there are other options -
Help!! Carley's and tazorac/retin-a
LAGirley replied to LAGirley's topic in Over-the-counter acne medications and products
Ok, Just wanted to post here that I got it and I absolutely love it, and it's only been ONE NIGHT!!! If it keeps doing what it did for me last night then I'll be extremely happy. My skin was very flakey and dry and this cleared that problem up almost completely. -

http://acne.org/messageboard/viewtopic.php?t=5650 Posted by Beeman Vinegar - Personal Care Always use apple cider vinegar for personal care. White vinegar is best for cleaning. Used as a hair rinse, vinegar neutralizes the alkali left by shampoos. A reader says 'it will give your hair an all out shine!' Corn and callus remover - soak a piece of stale bread (a cloth would probably do as well) in vinegar, and tape it over the callus or corn overnight. Age spot fader - Mix equ

Use Apple Cider Vinegar!!! I know it sounds silly, but it really works. I think someone may have posted something about how great vinegar works, so I'll see if I can find it. I had a lot of red marks and started using this and about a week into it I noticed that my skin was a lot smoother, less blotchy, and it even helped with my breakouts. It's cheap too!

I just ordered the moisturizer from Carley's. I don't normally use moisturizer at night, but this stuff recommends that you do. I'm wondering when I should put it on? I'm using tazorac right now and I'm around my 5th week or so, and it's starting to clear me up, and I don't want to screw it up! The only problem is my skin has been SO dry! Should I use the moisturizer before, or after the tazorac? If anyone's got any advice on this I'd greatly appreciate it!

starting accutane in a week or so
LAGirley replied to fvez1's topic in Prescription acne medications
The flippant use of Accutane kind of worries me... it's supposed to be used on severe cases only. My advice is to really pay attention to your body and read as much as you possibly can about the side effects. It's a potentially dangerous drug -
