  1. Well guys, Its been a while since I've been here and many new faces here on board. About 2.5 years ago, I was on a 5 month course of Accutane which cleared me up, which unfortunately didn't last forever. Presently, I've been experiencing scaring cysts (multiple patches along the jaw line) and in the beginning steps of getting on Accutane again. Had some bloodwork done yesterday and hopefully all is well for me to get on this miracle drug for the second and last time. February 20/2008 -Blood
  2. Expect increased confidence, less red and dry lips.. Well that was for me at least.. Its been six months since i finished.. and my acne is coming backk.. i think im gonna go for a second course.
  3. Can i get this stuff at a CVS or right aide? i cant order stuff over the net i need something i can get at a cvs rite aide or some store like that I used a combo of cetaphil cleanser and cetaphil moisturizer.. both worked awsome while iw as on tane.. now my acne is coming back... think its time for a second course..
  4. When i hit the 4 month mark.. I bled everyday on accutane.. My nasal passages were just all dried and wouldnt stop bleeding for hours at times.. My recommendation after experiecing this is to buy some vaseline jelly.. and rub it inside your nose along the walls of the nose at night before u sleep and when you're out.. get some saline solution spray and spray up to moisturize your nose.
  5. Accutane stays in your system for a while.. Even after stopping your accutane treatment.. it stays in your body for a little bit still working to stop and prevent acne.. and it takes from 6 months to a year before your skin goes back to normal since it makes your skin extra senstive
  6. i've been off for about 4 and a half months.. red marks are clearing up.. but still visible.. lips wise.. the dry lips have settled down.. but still kinda dry.. maybe because of the winter weather.. my eyes are still always red.. when im at work.. co-workers keep on thinking im under the influence.. face is pretty clear.. just the occasional pimple..
  7. dude.. calm down.. accutane is proven to work.. people consider it as the "miracle" drug.. give it time.. you're put on a 5 or 6 month course for a reason.. i didnt clear up until the 4th month.. and it worked wonders from there.. i've been off for 5 months and im still clear
  8. I know there has been many many threads regarding tattooing after accutane.. and most people say 6 months.. but i've been reading articles about laser treatment and should let the doctor know if they've been on accutane in the past 18 months.. so is it 6 or 18 months? Also.. i havent seen any posts on here about people actually tattooing after accutane.. so has anyone here tattooed 6 months after their course of accutane? and if so.. how did it turn out?
  9. He didnt really seem that helpful.. I asked him and hes just like 1 year.. next topic.. i shoulda asked him more about it..
  10. beentheredonethat: I understand, but it seems like ALL of your derms think its safe after 6 months.. Its just weird how mine thinks 12 months would be safe..
  11. I talked to my derm today about getting a tattoo and he said 1 year. which seems to be way too long compared to what you guys have heard.. so i dont know what to do.. should i wait the whole year? or just get it after 6 months? my skin feels normal.. oil has come back..
  12. I finished a 5 month course of accutane 3 months ago.. i have a derm appointment tommorow and was planning to get a tattoo also.. i'll ask if its okay and if not.. i'll ask when it would be alright to do so.. so i'll keep you posted
  13. they are about a year and a half old.. anything i can do still?
