  1. Is it safe to use a low dose of hyroduinone/skin bleach while on Accutane to lighten skin? I know that while on Accutane, skin is very sensitive and should be left alone as much as possible, but would it be harmful to use a very little amount of hydroquinone mixed with moisturizer to lighten scars/overall complexion? While on Accutane, my skin has gotten darker due to being more sun sensitive and living in a very hot region.
  2. I've tried cutting out gluten and dairy. However, during that time period, ironically, my acne got worse than ever! I tried drinking Almond Breeze Vanilla Almond Milk during that time as a substitute. It was actually really delicious, a lot better than cow's milk actually, but due to my troublesome skin I stopped. Cutting out sugar, milk, and gluten is theoretically beneficial because sugary foods cause insulin spikes in the blood which often triggers acne in many people. But I guess everyone r
  3. LOL I like you're title! It really draws the reader lol. Anyways, I'm really sorry about what happened to you! I'm glad you decided to get a new derm, lmao you should deff sue, jk. It's really not thaat bad, and in time and with the right procedures, I'm sure it'll get better (: Haha I totally get how you feel with cortisone. Hate corticosteroids or anything related to cortisone
  4. Day 103 Month 4 Sorry I haven't reported in a long time; I've been quite busy. However, my skin is pretty smooth and soft now, and the scars are fading away quite fast (:Will post pics up soon! I take 60 mg of Absorica daily btw. Side Effects No dryness anywhere except around my mouth. The skin there is also a bit darker. My derm gave me locoid butyrate cream .1% to use around my mouth and lips, but it gave me a painful zit on my top lip! Lips do get chapped if I haven't applied lip bal
  5. I was wondering, is it safe to get one's wisdom teeth removed while on Accutane? I've been on Accutane for 2 weeks now, and I've been taking 30 mg a day. My wisdom teeth haven't come through yet, but I wanted to get them removed early, maybe in 3-5 weeks from now? By then, my doctor will up my dosage to 60 mg a day. So I'm wondering should I wait, and is it even safe?
  6. Accutane is fairly easy to get prescribed, depending on your dermatologist. Try asking your dermatologist for it. Usually they make you try an anti-biotic first, and if that doesn't work, then accutane is suggested. A friend of mine took accutane, and she had little to almost no acne, but she wanted to reduce the oilyness of her skin. It all really just depends on who's your derm.
  7. Hydroquinone or a retinoids are pretty good with hyperpigmentation and scarring, but you have to be reallyy patient with them. You're scarring is a bit different though. Maybe try getting a laser treatment for scar removal? I'd also suggest wearing sunscreen so that the scar won't get worse.
  8. Hey I just answered a question just like this! lol I'll just give my same answer to you as well (: Green tea and spearmint tea are believed to lower androgen levels. Androgens are male hormones, but women have them too. During one's "time of the month" androgen levels increase and cause glands to secrete more oil/cause more acne. I also heard taking fish oil pills could help with hormonal acne. Taking birth control pills or spironolactone would help. Spiro is usually prescribed for t

Taking birth control pills or spironolactone would help. Lowering blood sugar levels would help too. High blood sugar levels causes an insulin response (to lower the glucose/blood sugar lev
  10. Lukatoll: Good luck to you too! Heard month 3 is when skin starts clearing up fast Day 12 I haven't experienced dryness yet. Don't know if this is good or bad. I've been slacking on drinking alot water/tea too. Hope accutane is working for me. I do continue having break-outs, but they're not painful. My skin is still pinkish. Nothing new to report really. My doctor told me he might up my dosage to 60 mg after month 1.
  11. Yes! For the first three days on Accutane, my skin was beginning to clear up. I only had small pimples that were beginning to vanish. Then from day 5 and onwards, Bam!, new painful pimples every day (Not like the usual :/). I thought the initial breakout began 2-3 weeks in, but I guess I'm not the only one. Hey atleast in the long run, it'll be worth it (:
  12. At MAC shades are the opposite from the usual. C stands for cool tones (yellow/olive undertones) W stands for warm tones (pink undertones) NC is neutral cool NW neutral warm I have the MAC studio finish powder plus foundation in C4. Judging from the pics you could either be a NC 25 or C 30 (:
  13. I'm on Accutane right now, and so far it isn't nearly as bad as people make it seem! Anti-biotics work really well for most people, so maybe you should give that a try first (: It's hard to tell from the pic if you have spots or just scars/hyperpigmentation from old acne. Maybe you should give Accutane a try to prevent further break-outs/scarring in the future.
  14. You should give Accutane a try! It's often used by those who have tried "everything else". It's a typicaly a harsh 5-6 month treatment, but in the end it's worth it. Ance clears and remains that way for the majority There's always hope lol!
  15. Thank you for the support! We'll get through this (: & Glad you're clear now CWR24! Gives me hope that accutane will work! Day 8 Accutane Side Effects 3 pimples on my jawline. Pimples that were close to going away before accutane are now active. My skintone has changed. I used to have an olive complexion/yellow undertone, but now I'm sooo pink and have a red undertone everywhere. I'm really hoping my skintone will revert to normal once I'm done with accutane. NO DRYNESS YET Haha
