  1. Hi Guys I have my first dermatologist appointment on the 11th February after my new GP referred me straight away from looking at my acne, and i'm really scared and confused as to if I should take accutane. The reason I am so scared is because of a drug called Mefloquine (or the brand name Lariam). I took this drug when i was 10 years old as did my family when we went on holiday to the Dominican Republic, which was an anti-malaria drug, we had to take one tablet daily for the two weeks
  2. Hi everyone, I started the regimen about 18 months ago, and after trying for so long with so many different products I decided to give up as it wasn't doing much for me, and currently I am using nothing for my acne as I discussing products with my GP. I have always had an extremely oily face, back and chest (even though I don't get acne on my chest or back) but for the past year my neck which was fairly normal has become painfully dry, to the point where it hurts to move my head. This may
  3. I've been on the regimen for about 2 years now (I'm 18) and my skin is getting worse by the day. Using benzoyl peroxide has annoyingly never worked well for me, I have never seen a significant improvement in my skin and a lot of people ask me why I use it, and that is because whenever I stop using it, my skin breaks out like never before. I cleanse my skin in the morning with Johnson's Top-to-Toe Wash, and then exfoliate with St. Ives Apricot Scrub, these products work fine with my skin and
  4. Hey Guys I'm beginning my vitamin b5 trial next week by starting on just 500mg and then working my way up to 10 grams. I've read a lot about Dr. Leungs theory on pantothenic acid and also other peoples reviews on them using the vitamin which tend to be all good. The only scare I have about it is hair loss, the thought of my hair just falling out gives me shivers and I want to try my best to make sure it doesn't happen. Has anyone got any tips to make sure this doesn't happen or any vitamin
  5. Hey guys I've had acne since I was about 14 (I'm 18 now), after using the trial and error method with multiple different topicals and drugs I have never found anything that works for me, I have been doing the regimen everyday and night for 2 years now and I don't know if this is even working for me because of how my skin is only getting worse? (I'm too scared to stop doing it in-case it gets EVEN worse). As I have really oily skin I came across a few success stories on how Vitamin b5 h
  6. Hey guys For a while I have had my mind set on how I want to be prescribed to accutane, because of how it has worked so well for the stories I have read online. Recently this has been changing due to how I have heard more and more stories on how much bad accutane has done for some people. One being my friend, who got prescribed the drug and took it for 2 months until he had to stop, he got depression really bad, IBS, extremely dry skin all around the body and although it did clear his skin,
  7. Hi guys. I've just got back from my GP for the 10000000000th time this year and once again he hasn't listened to me. I have moderate acne but I keep it controlled by doing the regimen 2 or even 3 times a day (My skin is EXTREMELY oily). Ive had acne since I was 14, and now being nearly 19 I am sick to death of it. I get social anxiety, depression and sometimes even think horrible thoughts on how it is effecting me and nobody at all takes me seriously. I've tried every single topical, cream, anti
  8. Hey guys, I'm 18 and I've had moderate acne for about 4 years now, I've tried every single topical and medication out there for my acne and the only thing that works slightly is BP, but my acne is getting worse by the day. I've come to the point in my life where I don't care what anyone thinks, I don't care if i haven't got 'cystic' acne or 'proper' acne, I just want it gone. Its effecting my life so much to where I don't feel like I can do anything any more. I get so upset and it just feels lik
  9. Hey Guys! So I've been doing the regimen every morning and night for over a year now, and how it has worked really well, I am ashamed to say that I don't include moisturising in it. My skin is naturally VERY oily and also dry at the same time, in which it starts of dry once I have washed it and then becomes very very greasy about an hour afterwards. This at first made me not want to moisturise but after a while I tried it for a couple of months, on the 4/5th day I had a small breakout, at the ti

    Vitamin A Instead Of Accutane?

Wow! thanks a lot everyone! This is honestly the first time I've felt like people understand me and actually guide me instead of doing the opposite. Before this I was adamant I was going to take Vitamin A but after this I now am going to hold it back and try and put some sense into my GP, after all it won't hut for a few more appointments to be made! Thanks a lot!
  11. Hey guys, I've been to the doctors what seems about 50,000 times about my acne and she is beyond helpless.. She doesn't even take me seriously at all and she basically told me that the only time she would refer me to a dermatologist is if I had extremely cystic acne that effected my life as a whole.. which is stupid if you ask me. Due to how I my GP won't refer me to a dermatologist and I don't have enough money to go private, i'm thinking of taking a large amount of Vitamin A everyday. I read u
  12. Hey Guys! I have been doing the 'regimen' for nearly 15 months now, and even though it is really helpful, it has never got rid of my acne fully, not even nearly but the difference is amazing. My problem is that have never moisturised.. At the start my skin was way to oily to moisturise and when I did my skin would look absolutely disgusting and greasy. Every now and again when my skin would get dry I would start trying to moisturise again but I would get the same overly greasy skin. Al
