    Accutane: before and after

So I just finished my last pill last night, and I'd like to post some before, during, and after pictures! I've improved so much and couldn't be happier that my acne is gone. I was on Accutane for 7 months and 6 days. I alternated between 40 mg one day, and 80 mg the next. Now, my face can get very red, even though I don't have any active acne. I hope that this eventually goes away as the accutane gets out of my system! I think it just made me really sensitive to any change in amount of sunlight

    Let's Be Real Guy's

We need to learn that acne doesn't define us. We need to focus on creating a life for ourselves that women would want to partner with us in. It sucks that we have acne, and there are days that I think that is all anyone notices about me, but we need to be confident in who we are as men. If we don't practice self-confidence and having a high self-esteem now, it's going to be that much harder to get it back once we are acne free. Besides, if we are self-confident and secure with ourselves when we
  3. I totally relate to that! I'm almost done with Accutane, and I'm practically clear except the past day I've noticed three insignificant pimples. It really freaked me out at first, when in reality, I look so much better than I used to! I know I'm not regressing either, because the accutane has cleared me up so well. Good luck with Accutane! I'm on my last week and a half and I've been on it 7 months. I'm practically clear now! It can be one hell of a drug, but it is worth it. And yeah, how

    Gives so much moisture!

    Gives so much moisture!

provides great moisture very light on the skin rubs in very well pricey leaves a bit of a shine on my skin Moisturizes so so so well. It has a fantastic smell as well. Unfortunately, I can't really afford to buy this lately though, it is so expensive!
  5. Cleared me in a matter of two months

clears you up pretty well cheap lasts a long time can be drying I started this when I was 16 and it cleared me in a matter of two months. I used this for another year and a half before my insurance wouldn't pick it up anymore. Sadly, I started breaking out again after I couldn't get this! Argh!!! But worked super well while I was on it.
  6. Not extremely effective, but does calm acne down a bit

didn't get worse lots of product for your money didn't clear me up for good became sensitive I was using this in addition to doxycycline and eventually minocycline. It did seem to help calm my acne down a bit, though it was by no means a cure. I did become very sensitive to sunlight as well. I used it every night for 7 months and I just kept hoping it would clear me up for good. At least it didn't make me worse. Also, a little goes a long way. I only used two tubes in 7 months time.

    Not effective for me

    Not effective for me

didn't get worse very sensitive I took this in conjunction with minocycline and a Retin-A cream. I applied it twice a day and didn't notice any difference after three months. I didn't get any worse as a result though. I did however become very sensitive to any sunlight.

Not as effective as I would have liked

Not as effective as I would have liked

didn't get any worse made me super sensitive to sunlight I used this after many months of not getting clear using doxycycline. I didn't get any worse while on minocycline, but I didn't necessarily get better. I think this med might have worked better had I not been working an outdoors summer job. I was in the sun all the time and it was very hot. Plus, I wasn't using the best cleanser either (oxy10). So maybe it would have worked if I had been in different conditions, that is the only reason I g

    Not effective for me

didn't get worse makes you very sensitive My skin just was really sensitive to the sunlight, and it did not really improve my complexion at all. I didn't necessarily get worse, but I didn't get better either.

    Doxycycline

I was on doxy and Retin-A at the same time for almost 4 months and I never saw an improvement. I just kept waiting and waiting. Perhaps it had to do with my lack of knowledge about general skin care because I over washed my face back then, but I thought it should have worked at least a little bit. Minocycline didn't work either. I finally ended up going on accutane and am clear after 6 months of taking it. It's one hell of a drug, but does work.
  11. Quick relief, don't expect an absolute miracle though

Reduces whitehead size considerably Easy to apply Can take a couple nights to notice a difference If you're in a pinch and need to get a whitehead away quick, this will do the trick. At the very least, it will reduce the size considerably. For me anyway, if I wanted a pimple gone, I would have to use it for at least two nights in a row to see good improvement. So don't wait till the last minute. Also, it is basically only effective on whiteheads. You put it on at night right before bed, and it's
  12. Definitely can relate. It's like, the only thing I notice about other people is how great their skin looks and how bad they must think mine looks. Besides my grandma and little kids (both of whom just spit out whatever is on their mind), no one has ever commented on my acne (now scars and increased redness) or treated me poorly because of it. I think it's all in my head that people think I'm gross.

    Accutane After 6 months

I alternate 40 mg one day, and 80 mg the next.
  14. It could be, especially if you recently started a higher dosage... Day 28 Hanging in there... not much in the way of new breakouts, mostly just waiting on old pimples to run their course... although I have gotten a couple tiny red ones right next to my lips, and I hope they don't get bigger, just because lip acne and the red marks they leave behind are so noticeable. I already have ton of hyperpigmentation around my lips and I don't want more. Dermatologist tomorrow... then bloodwork S
