  1. Do you ever think back to the days before your skin became a problem and feel sad? Even though you didn't care back then, life was probably a hell of a lot better. I certainty remember that time, you'd look in the mirror and it was just you, nothing else, just your eyes, your nose and mouth and other features staring back at you and now it's not even about that anymore, we just fixate on our skin. It was nice to wake up in the morning without that problem, without that fear. You didn't even rea
  2. It's just you. Ask them out, if they reject you I promise you it has nothing to with your skin.
  3. "I think all you can do is keep living your life. In the meantime, look for solutions". This is a good point, we all know how hard it can be, but I know long periods where I have been able to live well despite a few superficial problems. If we were 100% in control of our thoughts and feelings, we could live as if our skin was fine and never let it bother us a day in our lives but I don't know anybody like that. I do know people who have had bad skin but no matter how much you stared weirdly at t
  4. Hi Guys, starting to return to this website as I have been struggling lately. I am 16 and have been having skin issues for just over a year. I have big problems with hyper pigmentation, redness and Seborrheic dermatitis. I used to have mild to moderate acne but now I don't have that many active pimples, just a few. Looking in the mirror doesn't always destroy me but it's more the emotional issues I have been dealing with. I have pigmentation issues with the skin close to the eye area, and I gene
  5. So my skin has suddenly broke in a bad red rash in the chin and lower face area, I look fairly bad so until I can get this sorted, does anyone have any advice on getting by day to day including interacting with other people and getting on with my day? I'm finding it hard since I feel so self concious and a lot of despair.

  7. Hang In there, it will get better for the you. Life has its hard times but if you can learn to find time to relax then things won't be so bad and you might enjoy yourself.
  8. It's something we often here, that we scrutinise our skin the most and notice most of our flaws more then anybody else, while this may be true, aren't we always in some level of denial about our skin, we always tell ourselves, it's not that bad, they won't notice, it's fine etc. Becuase we have to deal with it and walk around with it but doesn't it make sense other people would be far more critical because it isn't there problem and they don't have to make excuses for you? They are also comparin
  9. Hi Guys, I remember their being something like this a while ago on acne.org but I can't seem to find it so I figured I'd start my own. It can't hurt to have more positive topics on here. Anyway, I have been through a lot in the last year or so with my skin and I have experienced a lot of things on the way, things that make me who I am today. Right now my skin isn't great, but the struggles I have gone through over the last year have been meaningful regardless. Sometimes we need something in our
  10. I really hate that that words as well' it brings back a lot of bad memories. However' we should be proactive about dealing with our skin and getting on with our lives.
  11. Tell me about it. I've had a few bad pimples since September as well, and they just won't go away, This weekend it's got even worse. You can never really give up though, more breakouts are always to be expected. Sometimes you think it's almost over and then Boom, your wrong. Life can be tough sometimes, and I know what it's like to be rock bottom, but the good times always return. It must be stressful to be in your position, with your job and everything but appearance is never everything, even m
  12. Hi Guys, I'm only 15, can I make a dermatologist appointment and pay for it with my own money or do you need to be an adult.
  13. I understand, it would change how you perceive yourself and how you think other people perceive you.I think if you did get rid of the problem people would probably see you in somewhat of a different light, maybe they would feel happy for you. You have to remember that we are all Normal human beings, we are not monsters and we are defined by how we act and what our life is and we are not defined by our skin. Someone with Acne could be the greatest person in the world or the worst, you can't tell
