  1. Awesome! Best of luck with that (:Sorry if it sounds stupid, but what oils are you using? I've been using jojoba oil at morning and emu oil and night and my face is baby smooth (: I can't say if it's made a difference with my acne since I'm using other products that would have just started kicking in, but no bad breakouts contributed to it (: That's encouraging! Are you using those oils alone? No castor oil? I haven't started yet. I'm buying a blend from Crunchy Betty on Etsy, and I only ordere
  2. I've heard plenty of good things about turmeric, I'll look more into that (: I'm trying to go natural, as much as possible anyway.. My dermatologist just prescribed me differin gel so I might give that a try. The benzoyl peroxide and adapalene combination (epiduo) worked really well but it was too irritating, which my dermatologist put down to having BP in it. I'm glad, because I don't want to use BP anymore. Although even after I told her that she was still trying to convince me to use epiduo.
  3. I agree! Mine have never turned into cystic acne, sometimes they get inflamed and become a pustule but not very often. I wouldn't mind that if the pustule would then go away and that's the end of it. But no, either my closed comedones don't go away or they eventually do only to be replaced by more! It's a never ending cycle .I just realised that I didn't put the tablets I am using in it. Well currently I am on the birth control Estelle 35 (which I've been using for about 3-4 months now, my derm

  7. Mine is very much the same, except the bumps aren't red, they're the same colour as my skin. They are very stubborn, I finally got rid of most of them by using epiduo (adapalene 0.1%, benzoyl peroxide 2.5%) but I stopped using that because it made my skin worse (acne=better, skin=worse) meaning my skin got very sensitive, red, whitened, weak, photosensitive, patchy etc. I personally wouldn't recommend it because your general skin (behind the acne) looks beautiful and I wouldn't want you to risk
  8. For 6 years now I've had acne, every now and again I'd get a pustule or something but my main problem is non-inflammatory acne. Aka, whiteheads and blackheads. About 4 months ago my dermatologist put me on epiduo. I recently stopped using that because of the effect of BP on my skin. It made my acne better but my general skin worse. The epiduo seemed to help heaps with my bumpy forehead (closed comedones) it didn't clear it 100% but defiantly made me clearer than I'd been in ages. Now that I'
  9. It slows the skins natural ability to heal. Therefore any mark will stick around longer.
  10. I've had mild to moderate acne for 6 years now (first started appearing at 11, I'm almost 16 now). When I first wanted help I got it from my family doctor who recommended benzac AC wash and prescribed Eryacne. She eventually had me on short antibiotic courses and birth control Levlen. She recently left her practice and recommended me a dermatologist (she was going to anyway, my acne got to the point where it wasn't responding to her treatments). I never had deep, painful cystic acne (I had a fe
  11. This has background information in it as well, so its quite long! I apologize for the length! I'm on my 6th year of suffering acne, I'm almost 16. My main problem was always whiteheads. My forehead was covered in pesky little bumps.. You could touch every part of my forehead with the tip of your pinky finger and not find a clear space for it. Anyway, my doctor recommended a benzoyl peroxide wash- benzac AC (non prescription) which I used for a good 4 years and then on and off up untill about 4
  12. Firstly, hello everyone.. I'm new here (: I've had acne for at least 5 years now (I'm almost 16) mostly only having whiteheads and blackheads, with the occasional pimple. But I went through a stage where I was getting a few cystic pimples on my cheeks, and now they have gone but I'm left with red marks. My acne at the moment is mostly black/white heads.. But with the acne treatments my dermatologist has me on my skin is very weak. Meaning when I do succumb to my urges and pick at a little bl
