1. How is it that you can convince a derm to do a low cpurse treatment long term? I did go on accutane 4 years ago worked great while on it, i could drink a gallon of milk a day and not get a zit....now if i eat anything with dairy sugar or wheat i get oily amd break out on my forehead, im almost 34....most derms ive been to will only consider accutane for severe cases...i hate restricting my diet, i love food, plus i need to gain weight....being oily and having mild acne has really destroyed me so
2. YES you can look on package and see what form it is. I use now supplements it says it right on the front "25000 IU from Fish Liver Oil." If it does not say that, then it is a synthetic form which may or may not work. I forget where I read it , but I remember seeing that the kind from fish liver oil works better. I have no idea what ug is so I suggest finding a bottle that measures the Vitamin in iu. I originally started with the CVS brand which was synthetic and in much smaller doses...didn'
3. Ive always had severely oily skin...so oily id have to wash skin every 2 hours at least. I was put on accutane for dermatitis of an unkown cause as a last resort. cleared all of my acne and oil within days unfortunately im not suffering from acne anymore i have something else that is causing other skin conditions...but about the vitamin a Like many others who have oily skin after stopping accutane the oil seems to come right back and for me it was about 2 weeks later. i refused to go back to
4. I've been going through the worst year of my life from pityriasis rosea to some unknown inflammatory skin condition. I'm on my last month of accutane, and while it helped tremendously with acne - it did not have an effect on whatever is causing this inflammation of my skin. My Dermatologist always wants to give me nizoral shampoo, antifungals, antibiotics, and refuses to culture my skin. So for me I go to the regular doctor and shove the results in her face. The last 3 of 4 dr visits s
5. Hey, Accutane itself has been fine.....I havn't had oily skin since week 2 and I'm 4 months in now with only some moderately dry skin as a side effect. I did get caught in a lie about drinking with the dermatologist...I was drinking the first 3 months, not heavily but about 2-3 beers a day, my enzymes went way up so I had to get bumped down month 4 to 20 mg. I was told I could take it for an extra month since I was bumped down for a bit. The Great thing - No acne or oil to speak of. Th
6. One Month Update on Accutane - Oily skin was 100 percent gone after 2 weeks, however it has just returned. Not as bad as before, but I do notice sebum on skin after like 6+ hours whereas the first few weeks on accutane I could go days without washing and not have any oil. No regular pimples at all - no pores are clogged but they are still enormous. As far as folliculitis - I can't say I've noticed much of a difference. In all of the areas that the Dr. found Serratia Marcescens and
7. Hi, for months now, if you read my other posts, I've been dealing with an unknown form of folliculitis I developed with a week after taking Minocycline for only 2 and a half weeks. What made this get out of control was a shot of prednisone from my regular Dr. which cleared me within hours but spread over my entire upper body, face, neck, and scalp after a 5 day course of prednisone pills. Derms treated me for rosacea, acne, pityrosporum folliculitis...most refused to do cultures. I ha
8. Hey man, keep the updates coming. I'm about to start accutane, pending my bloodwork that I'm taking Monday. If you read my other posts you'll see what I've been dealing with. Anyway, I've read a lot of success stories on here, and I'm at a point where nothing (antibiotics, topicals, antifungals, etc.) has worked. I'm set to go on a 5 month course, so will see how it goes - I'm kind of scared, but reading your post is helping me out. Thanks
9. Went back to the Dermatologist, with another set of cultures from my regular Dr. that came back with heavy growth of Enterobacter, and serratia marcescens. she said maybe its a mild case of Gram negative folliculitis but said most of the gram negative folliculitis she sees is severely cystic. We talked for a while, and she took a good look at how oily my face was, and said "at this point, the only thing left is a 5 month course of accutane." I'm excited but weary of taking accutane at the s
10.
two cultures from my regular dr came back as enterobacter which is a gram negative bacteria but the derm still says its pityrosporum.....in the mean time ive stopped the use of all soaps creams pills etc....except i use a toner on my face every few days or else my forehead erupts. ive noticed that im still getting a few spots on the back of my neck but since just rinsing with water my chest and back have cleared at least 65%. my face and beard area not so much.

11. Hello, I don't really ever post, but I've been avidly reading everyones posts for a couple years now. I'm in serious crisis. I have attached a pdf that I sent to my last dermatologist that includes a detailed description of everything I'm going through, it also contains pictures. Please read the pdf and let me know if you have any ideas...my current derm still thinks I have pitryosporum folliculitis as did I but my mind is starting to change it has not responded to Ketaconazole 200mg 1 weekly
12. I'm really just posting because I'm at a loss and hoping someone on here has found some miracle vitamin or product that will work for me. I'm a 28 year old male that has been dealing with mild acne/oily skin since I was about 15 and over the past 2 years I would say that has developed more into a moderate acne. My frustration is building, especially when no one in my family has acne, and especially since I've been waiting for years now to breathe a sigh of relief and look back and say, "Acne.
