  1. I got this too when I tried using straight up oils as moisturizers before, I think I used safflower oil or something. I think coconut oil has some comedogenic properties to it also, I think you could find a moisturizer much better suited for acne that wont irritate your skin!
  2. I genuinely think what is deemed "accutane worthy" really depends on the individual. Some people have mild and persistent acne that they take accutane for if it doesn't respond to anything else. You have what looks like mild-moderate acne to me, what have you tried so far to combat it?
  3. The complete regimen was too harsh for my skin too, like you it worked, but the redness and flakiness really kept up. What worked quite a bit for me was being SUPER gentle with my skin, when I wash it/gently pat dry it/put moisturizer on it... I would always do this with a super gentle touch. I just stick to a gentle cleanser now with a simple moisturizer afterwords. I try to limit myself from consuming a ton of sugar and I use hydrocolloid bandages for any whiteheads I might get. (using a lance
  4. I'll give it a couple weeks and access how everything looks after that, since its down in the list of ingredients I'm hoping it will all work out! Also for Dan's moisturiser I think it might have been that. I have really sensitive skin I just know it didn't cope well with it! I hope a new moisturiser gets formulated in the future, I would definitely try that! How long have you been using it? And I know, most of those tests were done with the pure ingredient on the rabbits e
  5. It's "Olay moisturising cream for sensitive skin" I was looking at like 140 reviews on amazon for the lotion (which also has that as the 6th ingredient) and out of the entire 140 reviews not one said it broke them out, and there was like a good 40 or so that said it didn't break them out and it actually helped their skin look better and less broken out. So I think this is one of those things that I'm going to have to wait it out and see for myself! I think its also important to note that
  6. Hey! I finally found a moisturiser that my skin can actually tolerate without getting red and making me feel like my face is going to burn off. I have seriously bad allergic skin. The only issue is, the 6th ingredient on the list is the dreaded "Isopropyl Isostearate" which ranks at a whopping 5 on the comedogenic scale. I probably wouldn't have got the product or used it on my face if I read the list first. But I haven't used it long and my face really seems to like it. I suppos
  7. I personally like using a cleanser twice daily, it makes me feel clean morning and night. Though it might make your skin a little drier. What I would suggest is if you didn't want to use a lot of moisturiser during the day, use a more rich one at night. Perhaps cerave moisturising cream, the stuff that comes in the little tubs.
  8. Looks like hyper-pigmentation, with maybe a couple tiny rolling scars. I'm assuming this was from the acne breakouts you had. I would suggest keeping your skin moisturised, and always making sure to use a sun block when you're out in the sun. The sun is one of those things that can really bake in red marks. If your skin isn't prone to breakouts any more then I would suggest some light exfoliation 2-3 times a week. Just curious what did you use to rid yourself of the acne you did have? Did
  9. Hey guys! I've been ive been using the acne.org cleanser for awhile now, and up until this batch it was fine. But I had got an order of two bottles of it and noticed after washing my face a couple times that there was a very off smell. I opened the bottle and gave it a better smell and it was an extremely powerful fermented smell, I could only describe it as like "plain yogurt" smell or something similar. Obviously I think Dans products are amazing and reliable, but I just wanted to kno
  10. Do you guys find that your skin gets better as the season stabilizes? I find its the change that messes with me, but my skin gets more used to it as it gets in the middle of the season.
  11. I notice my skin isn't a big fan of season changes, it tends to get a little crappy for a month or two, then tends to regulate. I know my forehead was particularly bad January and February, not sure what that was about! So It might be a coincidence, who knows! Do you find your skin gets better for the winter?
  12. Honey is low-moderate GI, and the glycemic load is really low.. so I don't see any medical reason why it would cause any acne? Unless you had some sort of sensitivity to it ahaha. Unless it was that creamed honey with a ton of sugar added, even then I don't think it would give you any issues, the link between sugar and acne is only questionable and beginning to be established IF there is even a link.. That and you eat healthy most all the time anyway, the body would account for the occasional sl
  13. So I could have broke follicle walls by popping the pimple? and if puss got through them into other areas of the skin it could break me out more? I think im going to leave it alone now, the swelling went down marginally, and there's a chance I got all the pus out. I just have to repeat to myself that its not worth it to pick at the skin! ahahah ;p
  14. Hello! I was just wondering if you guys think popping a pimple can lead it it causing more acne in the surrounding area. I had a semi inflamed acne bump on my cheek.. I applied witch hazel, washed my hands, covered my fingers in toilet paper, tried to pop it.. some stuff did come out, but it wasn't a completely successful extraction.. I immediately put witch hazel on it, then after that dried I put on some aloe on the bump and a little around the surrounding area. So I think I did all I could
  15. Image seems broken on my end, so I can't see anything. I think the term acne scarring is more commonly used ;p For treatment of scarring it depends on the type, but for "holes" or deep scarring I think the treatment is usually subcision or laser therapy. Also just curious, how old are you? And how did you clear up your acne? Or did you just grow out of it?
