Unclogs pores Refines skin's surface Fades scarring Difficult transition period Stronger percentage cream not necessarily better More is NOT better It has been one year since I began retin a; 3 mo of .025% followed by 9 mo of .05%. With the exception of a small monthly breakout related to my menstrual cycle, I am CLEAR. I have tried: benzoyl peroxode, salicylic acid, glycolic and lactic acid peels, topical antibiotics, oral antibiotics, birth control, food elimination diets, lifesty
  1. I am using carrots specifically because of their nutrient combo (beta carotene, b vitamins, etc). It is a short term treatment; I will go back to a variety of green smoothies after the six month period. I realize what you're saying, but I'm completely clear from this :] so I'm confident it is more complex of an issue than simply GI load. And I can get down on organic produce; I grow my own :] and agree with you about their nutrient concentration being much higher and more complete than non-organ
  2. I generally would agree with you but I'm juicing 5lbs of carrots a day for 6 months and literally would not be able to drink that quantity of juice + its pulp.
  3. I just completed 4 months of daily carrot juicing (1 quart/day) and my skin is completely clear. I still get the one or two during my cycle, but it's a massive improvement from when I began. I had cut gluten and am already vegan. Religiously low glycemic load brought minor relief. Now I'm eating gluten, nut butter (!!), and even occasional sugar/junk with no skin reaction! I think it may be about healing your digestive tract, amping your nutrient stores/correcting deficiencies, and balancing hor

  5. great answer. couldnt have put it better. if your acne really bothered him then you guys still wouldnt still be dating. for guys personality is really what touches the heart. and obviously yours is what captivated his. however if u carry on acting insecure he will flee quicker than a blink of an eye. so just accept the fact he is into u and enjoy it! You certainly bring up a good point that my insecurity will drive him away; in fact, it's already a problem :[ I have let it bleed into other asp
  6. Aw forever alone haha... I honestly can't imagine being 18 again, especially with the shift to social media! I think I had to pursue the guys I ended up dating at that age, though, so there is that. If I had waited for them to ask me, I probably would have been single for much longer.
  7. Hi friends, I have been so tormented lately and thought I would reach out to my peers to see if anyone else is/has been in a similar situation. I am in my late twenties, and developed a moderately severe case of acne about 18 months ago. It is now pretty much under control apparently (carrot juice + retin a FTW), but the emotional scars are very deep and quite sensitive. I am also a recovering anorexic with terrible anxiety. Last year around this time, I met a guy. He is younger than
  8. I had amazing results with a prescription sulfur wash (rosaderm maybe?). I have used the same ointment as you, and while it cleared the spots I was treating, it also gave me bad lizard face for a week afterward! Be careful with your application; shit is powerfully drying!
  9. AHHHH be careful!! Coconut oil was great for my body but clogged the pores from my chest up! Took me weeks (if not months) to recover from applying twice. I was using virgin, organic but it jacked me up! I have read about it working wonders for some, though!
  10. I have used turmeric both topically and internally. Topically, combined with honey and applied as a paste to cysts, definitely helps them to drain. I have covered with a bandaid at night to find it had opened and cleared by morning. HOWEVER, and I may well be the exception with this experience, I have found this to also break me out! I seem to remember whiteheads popping up where I had applied. I don't know if this was a purging effect or what, but I use other spot treatments (3% hydroge
  11. In other words, leave the perfection of nature alone. It knows more than we do, and looks beyond our personal needs. Precisely. The ethics of manipulating the biosphere need to be personally (and globally) addressed. Oh yeah, and VOTE YES ON PROP 37!
  12. Aside from all the things that are wrong with what Monsanto is doing, one of the things I find most frightening about GMOs is that they're unstable at a basic genetic level, and they may affect our own DNA, and continue to do so even after stopping consumption. We don't really know what that means yet.
  13. I'm sure people think I'm nuts, but try carrot juice. It's a time commitment, but juicing 5lbs of carrots daily for 6 months has the same dramatic healing effect on acne as accutane, without the toxic side effects (according to my pharmacist friend). I have just completed two months, washing with cetaphil's antibacterial bar and moisturizing with a simple rosewater and glycerine mist. I am also in my seventh month of retin-a (just increased from .025% to .05%). The dermatologist I saw last mo
  14. Try transitioning to a vegetarian or vegan diet. Many spiritual leaders have said this lightens our energy, allowing the energy within to flow freely without the dampening energy of flesh. Depending on how far you want to go with it, try short juice fasts or even a raw food experiment. Gabriel Cousens has written some books you might find interesting: conscious eating, rainbow green live food cuisine. Check out these books: DMT: the spirit molecule, fingerprints of the gods, serpent in the s
