  1. Hmmm, this should not in any way be taken as a definitive answer. I'm just another non-doctor giving my experience..... I'm an accutane right now and have gone out about once a week to the bars, but have only had one, or at the most two beers while out. All of my bloodwork has been coming back with very good levels so my derm said that whatever I was doing at the moment was working very well. I think it's all about moderation? I'd love to know for sure though.
  2. Clinique makes a great t-zone oil reducer cream, you can find it them in any major department store. I think it costs around 12-15$ and works wonders!
  3. Hi again, I'm not trying to start an argument here but I thought it was neccessary to respond to Mellon's comment about censorship on this board. I was not in any way implying that there is a need for censorship on postings. Of course I agree with mellon' that the side effects of accutane need to be disscussed, and that any and all questions that people have need to be answered to the best of our abilities. However, I do believe you missed the entire point of the matter which was the ev
  4. To the poster above.... I think it's somewhat sad that you're personal experiences with accutane were so horrific that you have become bitter about the drug. But if you do take the time to look further than yourself for evidence of accutane results you may start to think twice before spouting off bad information. Risk is inherent in every drug you put in your body, from penicillian to asprin to accutane, everyone will react differently. Accutane is an amazing drug, I have seen the results in
  5. Hi there, Before I went on accutane I had the same exact problem, and summer weather only compounded it. My honest suggestion is that you get a t-zone oil controller and apply it before you put on any makeup. It's clear and is quickly absorbed by the skin so you can proceed as you normally would after that. The only one I found that really seemed to last all day is made by Clinique and costs around $16, it does last a very long time though. I hope this helps you out some. by the way
  6. I started seeing results about two weeks into the treatment and am now completely clear with just the red marks from previous breakouts left. However, I only had moderate acne to begin with so I don't know if we are comparable. If it's any consulation, my brother who had severe acne took a full 3 months before he saw results with accutane. But it's now 5 years later and he's still 100% clear. I hope that helps 8-[
  7. I'm on my 24th day of accutane: 20 mgs in the morning 40 mgs at night moisturize morning and night My results are really somewhat incredible. I had no idea that I would be able to see such a substantial improvement already. I've only had 2 small pimples in the last two weeks and all of my older deep pimples have disappeared leaving just small red skin discolorations. My skin is also incredibly smooth, almost strange really. I kind of compare it to that tight soft skin of a toddler.
  8. Where can you find Aquafor for chapped lips?
  9. Hi there, Getting sick with a bc pill is pretty common with your first couple cycles of any type or brand name. I took Ortho a couple years ago as a BC pill and had mild naseau when I began. I started Ovocan BC about a month and a half ago to help get rid of tremendous cramping and had terrible naseau for about a month. I hadn't been on BC in two years so I was pretty much expecting it to happen. I'm not quite sure when you're taking it or what you're taking it with but heres my advice....
  10. I'm doing fine so far. I'm trying really hard to not look for any results right now. I've had two new pimples but I don't really know if that's the "intial breakout" or just my regular acne. My lips are slightly dry but no big deal, and I when I take baths I now use Nutreogena Rain Bath Oil to help keep my skin moisturized. It's great stuff. I don't know that my skin is that much dryer either, I still wake up with it oily in the morning so..... so that's all for now. I think it's great that we
  11. Hi bernie I've never tried physicians but it sounds good, I would like more coverage sometimes too. Is it a liquid? I only ask because you said it comes with a foundation brush.... sounds kinda fun actually. By the way, your signature rocks!
  12. Accutane is not bad in and of itself, check your premises..... I only say this because of the thousands of people accutane has helped. Unfortunatly, it is a drug, and drugs never have the same affect on different people. Side effects differ, reactions differ, and effectiveness differ. I know over 10 people including family members who have been on accutane, 8 of them had amazing results, and two had to be taking off because of cholesterol and liver issues. I have to honestly say that eve

  14. This will be my first day on accutane too. Our history with meds runs pretty similar, however I've been dealing with the acne for about 12 years. I hope to see us both improve greatly over the next few months. Keep me posted and Congratulations!
  15. YAY!!!! Finally! I went to the derm, told them exactly what I wanted and why (including a written list of every acne drug I have been prescribed and have tried) and she said absolutely! I was prescribed 20mg in the morning and 40mg at night (apparently my weight prescribes the dosage amount, I didn't know that before....) I'm very excited to feel like I am begining to close this chapter in my life. It's hard to believe that I will possibly be breakout free after this summer! I'm also glad
