  1. I love my Sirius Aurora Light system. I got it for a steal, at like 70 bucks on Amazon... it has a green light for hyperpigmantation, blue for acne and red for toning and wrinkles. I was getting great results, but then found BP worked faster and wasn't a huge time commitment. So then I started adding them together a couple of weeks ago, and my light system broke. I bought it in March, and there's a one yr warranty. So I literally called today, but had to leave a voicemail... odd. ANd I'm not exp
  2. Hey guys!! I had an idea yesterday -- I just bought a Sirius Aurora Light Therapy System with blue light (and green and red). It's been working realllllly well to kill bacteria on my skin and heal deep blemishes extremely fast... So I had a thought... I know that every time you do make-up you put p. acnes and staph and all sorts of organisms back into your powder make-up... It always bothered me that there was nothing I could really do about it.. But yesterday I decided to "treat" my open make-u
  3. so yea, dairy has clearly been a major contribution to my acne. I've noticed that even the smallest amount of dairy is causing crazy breakouts lately. I'm not a HUGE dairy fan to begin with, but yea, cheese... I just cannot seem to give it up. I absolutely LOVE feta, cheddar and gouda. I cannot give it up And so, to curb my cravings, does ANYONE have ANY idea of replacements that might help even a LITTLE? (I tried soy-cheese replacing mozzarella, and it was, eh, just ok... but I haven't seen o
  4. So, I've been getting my acne under control with going diary-free and stopping picking and physically manipulating my skin.. So in low-lighting, I look pretty good. But when the light hits my face "just right" you can see the tiny little bumps allllll over my cheeks. I can't feel them with my hands... my cheeks feel pretty smooth, but these almost rash-like bumps have been there for at least a year. I think they're just sebum plugs, because I can use a condome extractor for some that have come t
  5. Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap. I use the lavender kind, It's been a god-send. Cleans well, but don't over-do it. I have super oily skin, and it takes time for your skin to normalize, but ultimately, even with my super oily skin, I've comfortably been able to make my routine: no washing in the morning, just water from the shower and towel dry (leaves a tiny "film" or "barrier" for your skin to naturally fight off bacteria), then at night I wash my makeup and grime off with castile soap. I have sensi
  6. I needed this. Thank you!!! additionally, I plan to visit this page over and over again. As many times as it takes.
  7. Hello! I'm glad you have found success... was your acne severe? Which D are you taking and how much? Did you also see a decrease in oil (sebum) production? My son's skin is soooo oily, I can't wait for that to decrease (if ever!) i just wrote a long reply, but my computer malfunctioned... so I'll try and get this right... last summer i started avoiding dairy, was in the sun a lot, putting jojoba oil on my t zone then wiping it off, chemically exfoliating with diluted raw vin

My son's skin is soooo oily, I can't wait for that to decrease (if ever!) oh! Sorry, to answer your other question, i take MegaFood D3 2,000 IU per pill. Also I had some 1,000 IU Shaklee D3 lying around, that i've taken intermittently, but it's "expired" so i don't trust it's potency to take only that. Besides, i like Megafood

  10. I didn't read this entire post, but i definitely look forward to it!!! Because I am 25 and have suffered from acne since the age of 14, and after about 3 weeks on D3, my acne is almost completely gone -- I also had my vitamin D levels checked and found they were a dismal 18.1 SEVERELY LOW! I am happier now than I have been in 11 years. Amazing. Glad to be able to share this success with a fellow vitamin D beneficiary.
  11. So, I haven't been doing anything differently lately. I've practically banished cystic acne and haven't had one in the last 5 months (other zits, yes, but no cysts). But I've had TWO in the last two weeks! And the one common thread is they both appeared two days after I went swimming with my kids. I didn't go under water, but hot tub water on my chin, and that's wear both of the cysts showed up. is there any way of minimizing this in the future? Could it be the chlorine? Could it be the heat/ste
  12. There's a holistic forum here you should check out it's great for smart folk slike you attempting to find the CAUSE of acne, and know that the body has the potential to health from this awful disease without putting on the bandaid of chemicals. I've yet to find a perfect fix for me, but I'm a million times better
  13. At 25, I kinda thought the same thing... Bad, bad cystic acne. I had kind of gotten a handle on things when I went to my first derm appt. -- last summer. June/July I started going dairy free/less. I noticed it seemed to help. Heard it would, but never wanted to give it a try cause I LOVE cheese... It helped with the cysts, but not much else... Of course, if you only have cysts, this might be your last step. But then I tried washing less. Took a LOT of trial and error, but with oily, sensative sk
  14. Well I started at 4,000 but I'm up to 10,000. Not sure that much is necessary. If you don't have a deficiency, I highly recommend 5,000 IU/day from a highly bioavailbe source (whole food, cold pressed, organic food supplement).
  15. Yes. And it's definitely working. I was just wondering what levels likely are during the summer, because I heard one person say it takes years to develop a deficiency.
