  1. So I started a new diet 2 and a half weeks ago. Cut out all fast food. Paying attention to glycemic load. Not going overboard on grains and avoiding dairy and citrus fruits which I believe I am intolerant to. I was a chronic fast food eater before. I am still getting pimples (less than before gradually) but it is weird. Huge under the skin cysts are still occasionally popping up but instead of growing large and being there for weeks if not months, they either die down in 24-48 hours or
  2. When people say that Accutane causes hairloss, does this mean it is going to make my hairline recede like in male pattern baldness fashion or does it just mean that it will thin everywhere?
  3. I can attest to that about the lifting weights. I can either be skinny (and still lean with a low bodyfat) and be relatively clear, or go hard into weight lifting and bulking and have an awesome body but cystic acne. As much as it kills me, I stay skinny to prevent the acne. So you say lifting weights would further make my acne worse?I've been trying to search some articles on this but they all give a mixed response. And how can i be reassured that giving up weight lifting would calm down my
  4. I am in the process of trying to choose a doctor for Fraxel Repair for my icepick and boxcar scars. I have found a highly rated facial plastic surgeon who told me he would treat my scars with his fraxel repair laser. He has glowing reviews (over 50 and all positive) on vitals for things like nose jobs and other facial related procedures but nothing for acne scars. As we all know that acne scars are harder than anything else, would you trust going to someone who probably does not regularly tre
  5. Seems like the acne is ruining your life. Why not just try out Accutane? The possibility of long term side effects risk seems worth if acne is killing you this much mentally.
  6. I am the same age as you with a fast metabolism myself. I agree with you and with Sleptember that simple, whole foods are quite filling, even though we may not be getting as many calories as desired. When you say weak, do you mean always feeling tired? How is your acne? Will fruit break you out? Maybe some fruit in the morning will help your energy levels. What kind of vegetables do you like? Do you steam/microwave/boil them? When I say weak, I mean I went from 180 pounds at a very low bodyfat

  8. I have the same problem. I have an extremely fast metabolism still and acne diets make me deathly skinny and weak. This is definitely not something I want as a 25 year old man. The issue is that a lot of healthy and nutrient rich foods are low in calories but very dense and filling. A piece of chicken, a big plate of veggies, and a big sweet potato or 2 is only like 500 calories and it feels me up for hours. I feel healthier on this diet but I can't stand being so weak.
  9. So what other than accutane cures acne? Nothing. While accutane doesn't cure EVERYONE, it has the potential to be a cure. There are a percentage of people of all ages (so we can't just say they all grew out of it after puberty if it got rid of their acne in their 30s) where they take it and their acne never returns. To my knowledge, everything else is just a bandaid unfortunately.
  10. I am not sure if the k2 reduces oil production but I have read that it is important to get enough of it to keep a balance. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2011/03/26/the-delicate-dance-between-vitamins-d-and-k.aspx "But there is new evidence that it is the vitamin K (specifically, vitamin K2) that directs the calcium to your skeleton, while preventing it from being deposited where you don't want it -- i.e., your organs, joint spaces, and arteries. A large part of arterial
  11. In the past, I have had great success with fermented cod liver oil in helping my acne. 1 tsp a day basically took all of the oil out of my skin, stopped breakouts, and gave me no side effects at all. The problem is the stuff that I was using costs a fortune and I just can not afford it anymore unfortunately. The blend that I was taking apparently had the correct ratios of Vitamin A, Vitamin D, and Vitamin K2 which enhance the safety I have read. I have purchased 5,000 IU pills of Vitamin
  12. I know this is an old thread but I was watching Star Trek and noticed that Chris Pine does have a decent amount of scarring and it definitely isn't as mild as some people would imagine. Goes to show that even in such a looks dominated profession such as acting, noticeable scars didn't prevent Chris Pine from getting the job over guys just as good looking with clear skin.
  13. I am 25 years old and have always had a super fast metabolism. I am very lean and was always able to stay lean even when eating fast food. I have been going to the gym regularly for years and when I eat enough, I am easily able to add muscle. 3 months ago I cut out all fast food and anything processed and have been eating an anti-inflammatory diet based off of whole foods. I eat a lot of oatmeal, salmon, veggies, steel cut oats, sweet potatoes, walnuts, fruit, beans, and other stuff like that
  14. I am getting subcision performed on both of my cheeks next week. I have read a lot regarding post care and am still trying to decide what to do. Here are my options. 1. Do nothing - Bruising will last longer than if I had iced it but does this mean better results? 2. Ice the first few days - I have read that this can significantly reduce bruising. Does this also mean less results? 3. Suction Method - This scares me the most since I would have to do it myself. I do not want
