    Quitting Dairy Is Difficult...

. Well, I don't avoid dairy completely, but I also don't buy or consume junk like ranch dressing, and rarely have ice cream (in which the sugar does more harm than the dairy). It is amazing to me how so many people have no idea what they are eating that they are surprised that ice cream, cheese & butter are dairy. And think that eggs are dairy. It's crazy how disconnected people have become from food. So you never eat ice cream now? Rarely. It's too sweet What about things like cheese, butter, and milk? Would ice cream cause you to break out??

I had no idea that my diet affected my acne until I changed it and my skin cleared. So you never eat ice cream now?
  6. Has anyone taken a low dose course of accutane (something like 20 mg 3x a week for a month to a month and a half) and have gotten sexual impotency??
  7. I was wondering if testosterone directly correlates to impotency (in men) and acne levels in men? I.E. if one has high testosterone... does that mean they are highly unlikely to be impotent and higher chance of acne? Does testosterone even matter when it comes to sexual potency and acne?

I Know What Keeps My Clear...

I will give a typical day Breakfast: One avocado, 3-5 tablespoons of olive oil, wild caught sockeye salmon, with kale and swiss chard Lunch: Grass fed beef sausages, coconut oil (3-4 tablespoon), with some more veggies Snacks: macadamia nuts and fruits Dinner: Same thing as breakfast or lunch

    Calling All Knowledgable Health Junkies!

Rosalie, I beg you to NOT try omega 3 oils of any kind (i.e. fish oil). Get your omega-3s from fatty fish (WILD CAUGHT ONLY).
  14. Hey guys, I have finally figured out the foods that I can consume that keep my 90% clear. The problem for me is that there are times where I cannot follow my exact diet and I end up breaking out. Gotta find a way around this... anyways, the following is what I have found that keeps my clear: 1) Complete avoidance of dietary lectins. That means no grains of any kind, most dairy products are forbidden (will explain more on this later), no nightshades, no nuts that contain skin (such as walnuts or almonds), and obviously no junk-food or processed food. Here is some information on what are lectins: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/lectins/ 2) The following are the foods that I eat: leafy greens, fruits (usually one or 2 pieces of fruit a day... more than that causes breakouts), Grass fed AND finished meats, wild caught fishes (MUST BE WILD CAUGHT ONLY), healthy fats (extremely important) such as avocados, olive oil, coconut oil, grass fed butter (not sure if this causes acne to me, still trying to figure it out), macadamia nuts and thats about it. Regarding the dairy, I have noticed that dairy from european countries does not seem to give me AS much problem as american dairy... probably because american cows produce lectins while european cows do not (european cows are also grass fed while american cows are not). I have tried goat milk... I mean I still get acne so I am not sure if goat milk is the cause of it, but my acne is way better once following this diet (like I said, 90% clear). Yogurt no matter what gives me acne and same with whey protein. Hard cheeses however do not seem to bother me at all. Regarding sweet potatoes... I do eat them at random times and I am still uncertain if they cause me acne. I think ideally avoiding all carbs except leafy greens and some fruits is the way to go. If I was a perfect individual I would follow this diet everyday... but I am not perfect and there are times where I cheat and bam the acne reappears. I highly recommend EVERYONE to give this diet a shot. I can almost guarantee you that your acne will clear SIGNIFICANTLY on this diet. P.S. regarding fruits... some fruits give people cystic acne, i.e. oranges or bananas. I guess the only way to be certain is to try that fruit and see the result.
  15. I know what diet I need to follow if I want to remain about 90% acne free. Basically all I can eat are leafy greens, grass fed meats (100 % grass finished as well), healthy fats such as olive oil (since I live in california, it must be COOC approved), wild caught fishes. The problem with such a diet is that there are times where I am out and about with people, and the restaurant we choose to go to has none of the above options. I notice even if I cheat a little bit my acne comes rushing back. Not sure how I can fix this issue
