  1. Yeah my doctor has given me Bactroban which should fight against infection. I'm seeing Doctor Monday so hopefully they'll have a look at it. Right now I'm heaping on Vaseline and the anti-biotic every waking moment and it's looking better. Bactroban is great for most infections. Careful not to overuse it, though. ;) Just one or two applications a day should be fine, or however the doc said to do it. Great! You're seeing the doc on Monday! :) 5 times per day is what Doctor sa

  3. I have a cut down off the centre of my top lip which hasn't healed in like 2 months. It's straight down but it's not that deep as far as I can tell. I'm talking 60 mg a day. Has anyone had an similar experience? What should I do? Give up Accutane completely (thinking of this atm) or ask my Doctor to reduce the dose? Will it scar? (n.b. it's completely located to my lip afaik i.e. it doesn't bridge past where the lip meets the skin) If you need any further info. I'll be happy to provide. I'm pr
  4. "First four weeks" = "first couple of weeks".
  5. I'm about to start my second round of Roaccutane for cystic acne this week and it's coming up to my 18th when I'll be allowed to legally drink. My doctor said 4-5 standard drinks per night with a few days off each week is fine. I trust her completely. With past experiences (please no, "you shouldn't drink at all posts") in mind, do you think this is okay? Or should I limit my intake moreso?
  6. You can work out how many boxes you will need to take by: (125 * w)/(40 * 30) where w is weight in kilograms. Just round the answer you get to the nearest whole number.
  7. I'm 3 months in and I was told I had mild cystic acne (not on your poll) and I haven't seen that great of results yet. Unless you consider a million redmarks from the initial breakout.
  8. Are you fucking retarded? How does ethanol raise your triglycerides? The only thing that can raise your triglycerides are fats. Ethanol and Fats are COMPLETELY different compounds. Take your damn biology and chemistry classes.. jeez.. http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=4422 http://www.reducetriglycerides.com/alcohol...ne_template.htm http://www.medterms.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=8880 http://www.medhelp.org/perl6/gastro/archive/1864.
  9. http://www.economist.com/world/displaystor...tory_id=5436968 That's a very good article I read in The Economist and has some comparisions on health spending as a % of GDP versus other nations. In regards to other aspects of your question, I'm from Australia, but have private health insurance but also use the public sector -- it could take me 3 months to see a specalist and a day to see a GP. Prescriptions are a lot cheaper, almost all important medications are subsidised so they cost about $30
  10. Am I the only one realising that GPs cannot prescribe Accutane, so they gave you a referral to a dermatologist to discuss "other treatment options" which is probably code for Accutane. Also, the dermatologist you were referred to might not share the same opinion of your regular doctor.
  11. Roche cancelled this programme about a year ago. It was only for people with the worst cystic acne who couldn't afford buying Accutane, not just for people whose derm's filled out a form. That's like saying people who need chemotherapy should get their drugs for free, but they don't, do they?
  12. I'd say it's best not to gauge people on how long they've been on it but how many boxes they've consumed. I've been on it a week shy of three months and just started my third month, and I've started to clear up a lot.
  13. Well, eunuchs don't get acne or go bald so there is something to do if Accutane dosen't work.
  14. I think you should do what you want to do. That is my only advice. Weigh up the pros and cons and just tell you dermatologist "I feel as thought this is not helping and I would like to consider the option of using Accutane in the near future." I feel as though your mind is already made up though. Yes you should continue with your treatment (or stop now if you want your acne to flair up for dramatics). I was in a smiliar situation to you (I had gone to a GP instead of a dermatologist) and as soo
  15. I tried to run across a park yesterday. Let me tell you I felt like an 80 year old man after. Other than that my sides effects (including dry lips) are very demure.
