How Bad Is Sodium Laureth Sulfate?
bjarnecke replied to bjarnecke's topic in Over-the-counter acne medications and products
Sorry it's taken me so long to reply to my topic, I've been really busy with school and midterms and whatnot. But I'm on spring break and have a tiny bit of free time now. I actually am going to my derm this Thursday, and I'm going to ask him about Accutane. I know that antibiotics won't help me at all. Not just because I don't want to build up a resistance, but I was on them a few years ago and they didn't help, and I've been on moderate courses of antibiotics more recently for chro -
How Bad Is Sodium Laureth Sulfate?
bjarnecke replied to bjarnecke's topic in Over-the-counter acne medications and products
You're definitely right, it is in so many shampoos...all of the ones in our house contain it. I've noticed it's also in quite a few of the commercial face washes. I really could care either way, I'm neither for it or against it because so far I haven't had any negative reactions to it. I kind of messed up because I started this topic before I did my research, where I found quite a bit of information about pyrithione zinc that says it is relatively safe as long as you "follow the label". I guess -
I'm in a bit of a predicament...I've found something that seems to be keeping my acne under control, but I just don't know if it's worth the possible consequences. Like many people on this site, I have been around the block with all kinds of products and there are very few out there I haven't tried. Nothing really seemed to help, and Ihcame to the conclusion that my "acne" is caused by an overabundance of fungus. I have very oily skin, and I get cystic like bumps on my forehead that just be

I actually have a bottle of b-5 from the last time I tried this type of regimen, so I'll start taking 500 mg each day again. Discipline is going to be the hardest thing for me, but I'm going to do my best

I've tried this regimen before, but after a few days my face has white oil plugs (that's what I call them but I think they're just clogged pores). Also, my face is very oily. So my questions are: 1) How do you keep your skin from looking so oily? Unless you don't have oily skin, in which case you are very lucky. 2) Do you wash your hair and how do you keep the water from getting on your face? 3) Lastly and most importantly, how the heck do you shave? I know you said you never really used to grow

Seborrheic Dermatitis And Fungal Acne- Cured With Vaseline!
bjarnecke replied to ana124's topic in Rosacea & facial redness
Not really. I red that grandpa's pine tar is the best, but I can't afford it in my country, simply cuz shipment is too expensive. I rotate 3 brands made in my own country. Pine tar is pine tar. Don't think the brand is essential. I know it's good to be creosote free, but I don''t really care about that... Alrighty, thanks for the feedback. I found Grandpa's on Amazon for super cheap, might have to give it a shot. -

I will be following this topic with interest. Although I don't have an answer for you, I am experiencing the same thing right now. I have hyperpigmentation which I know will heal on its own given time, but I also have those ice pick and other type scars on my cheeks. Unfortunately, I am fearing the worst news, that there is nothing we can do to help them, save very expensive laser treatments which isn't going to happen for me. -
Good luck with this! If you really stick to it I'm sure you'll see great results. I wish I had the willpower to do a diet like this. I've read The Clear Skin Diet, and there are a lot of things in these types of books that make a lot of sense. It's just being able to implement and actually do it! How many bacteria are you currently supplementing with? I was using the Phillips Colon Health probiotic and it only had around 1.5 billion.

I have super sensitive skin as well, and I'm always red after shaving. Recently I tried just shaving with water, but that didn't go to well. I didn't think it would, but I figured I'd give it a shot. My five blade razor probably doesn't help much either. But the main reason I've replied is because I've also been getting cysts around my mouth area. I have no idea why, never used to get them at all, my breakouts are all cysts on my forehead.

I answered yes, because if I don't shave I don't have any breakouts where I would be shaving. But when I do shave, I generally get small pimples between my nose and mouth, on the upper lip. I also tend to get pimples on my throat area where I shave too, and I always keep that shaved, even when I wear a beard.

After Caveman Regimen: Layers Of Dead Skin. Help.
bjarnecke replied to Battle2011's topic in Adult acne
I just went a week without washing my face...it didn't get any worse, but it really didn't get any better either. However, the redness did clear up a little bit. I think I figured out what my problem is though. Where I live, we have extremely hard water. And I've read quite a few articles about how the minerals in hard water don't allow cleaners and topicals to work properly, and more often than not damage the skin. So tonight I bought some distilled water and I'm going to wash my face with tha -
After Caveman Regimen: Layers Of Dead Skin. Help.
bjarnecke replied to Battle2011's topic in Adult acne
Sepsi, have you actually tried the OCM regimen? I'm just wondering to see what kind of results you had with it. I'm thinking about trying a caveman regimen, or a variation of it like this I did it a few times, but I was never consistent with it. I have had good comments about it at my forums though. I think I'm going to try the caveman regimen and scrape away the dead skin with a towel. The only problem is, I live and work on a farm, so there are days when my face gets very dirty. Not sure how
