  1. Hi everyone, I'm 22 and I started getting chronic acne when I was about 17. Two years ago I found out about Dan's regimen and I've been using it ever since. It helped me more than I can say but it never cleared me completely and so I've always been searching for other ways to prevent pimples especially around 'that time of the month' which is always a nightmare for me. I've tried the usual meds as well as unconventional remedies like drinking lemon water, supplements (e.g., evening primose oi
  2. Hi Vanessa, Thanks for the advice. It's actually really good to know that you were getting hungry every 3 hours when eating like this...why does that happen? When I did my "experiment" with a low carb diet last week (ate mostly tofu, veggies, and whole grain bread) I also felt like I was literally eating all the time! I was afraid I was going to GAIN weight and it was so time-consuming and distracting to always be on the lookout for food. I'm definitely disorganized as I'm a student and don'
  3. Has anyone seen this website ---> www.acne-advice.com It's been inspiring me to try a diet to try and get rid of my acne. My problem is that I think I'm literally addicted to sugar!lol.... I will try the low carb thing for a few days and then I'll just get a real craving and go and blow the whole thing by eating cookies and candy, etc. Ugh...I've got to try and get some self-discipline though to see if it actually works. In a way I don't want it to work because I can't imagine living wit
  4. Hi yo, How long have you been taking them? I read the same thing and heard evening primrose oil is very good for women who experience PMS and related breakouts...so I've been thinking of trying it myself because my acne definitely seems to get worse at certain times.
  5. Unfortunately I've noticed this to be true--I always read that the red marks are supposed to fade after six months but I've had some that have been there for much longer. I've noticed that things get especially bad when I spot treat i.e. put a dollop of BP cream on a pimple over night...makes it go down fast but I do get a purplish mark. I don't know what to do--if I don't use it then I'm going to get indented scars from the pimples...I'm not sure what's worse!!
  6. Hi jeff, I'm glad to hear you found something that's working for you...Can I ask you about your experience with Proactiv? Did your skin start clearing up right away and did you experience any irritation? I reaaaaally wish that stuff had worked for me, I was so counting on it! But after 4 weeks of using it my skin simply got worse. Oh well...
  7. Hi Tinkerbell, Thanks for the reply. How much repairing lotion do you use and does it help to keep the breakouts away? I thought maybe I was breaking out because I wasn't using enough BP the way Dan's regimen says you're supposed to...and I already use neutrogena healthy skin--its good stuff, you're right!
  8. Dan's regimen has been working great for me but I was still getting about 3-4 pimples a month that were leaving scars, so I decided to try Proactiv in hope of clearing my skin completely. Although it felt good to use and I noticed a nice glow to my skin when using it, my acne got decidedly worse. It's been 3 1/2 weeks now and I've got several painful, inflamed pimples on both sides of my cheeks. My question is...did anybody notice that their skin got worse before it got better on Proacti
  9. Hi leeb, When I first started the regimen the exact same thing happened to me. My face became really red like I had gotten a terrible sunburn. I also laid off the BP cream a little bit. Another thing that helped me is I got a facial moisturizer with aloe vera in it--you might want to try aloe vera gel itself. This is just to stop the burning/itching and you can stop using it when your skin is adjusted. Hang in there...once my skin could tolerate the BP the regimen worked fine with no prob
