  1. Thanks for the replies. I do agree I could probably use more probiotics. I guess a few questions I had were if my diet was actually effecting me that much. When my skin was clear over the summers I was eating everything now I am paranoid about eating. Also I was wondering if anyone had ideas about the source of my acne, hormonal, dietary, etc or why it would clear up during the summers. Thanks
  2. Hi, I had written a longer more extensive post but it got deleted when I was writing it TT. So here is a condensed version: (My skin looks much better because of the yellow lighting, the red mark are significantly more noticable in normal lighting and there is a lot more hyperpigmentation and scarring you can't see.) I got severe inflamed acne all over my face when I was 17 out of nowhere from basically perfect skin. I was prescribed Minocycline (100mg), Retin-A and BP. It took about 2 ye

  4. Here's a picture of me a few months ago when my skin was almost 100% clear (it tends to do that when i'm away from school) [it took up the entire page so I just put it in a link instead, didn't know how to make it smaller.]http://a6.sphotos.ak...745062521_o.jpg It's nice to know that people actually understand the same insanity that I think I put myself through. Plus, i'm going to meet this girl friday so we'll see how that goes. Thanks everyone!
  5. That's me on the right way back from high school prom ('m a senior in college now). For all those who think I don't know what it's like. All that red on the side of my face up to my forehead and on the other side of my face is all inflamed acne. So I do know what it's like I wasn't making it up. It just turns into obsessing over every little thing at this point because I am haunted by what I used to look like.
  6. Thanks everybody, I think it is just hard to be objective when viewing yourself so receiving the opinions of others is nice. And, for anyone who thought OMG it's not even that bad he doesn't even know what bad is, trust me, I do. Once again, thanks everybody.
  7. So, I think I am just tormented by my previous condition (I had pretty severe acne) but I have never had the same self-confidence since (other than coming back from Marine training - that builds some confidence!) but socially, especially when it comes to talking to girls. I've been talking to this girl lately and I think I just need some one to tell me that it's not as bad as i think. So here we go.
  8. Thanks for the replies. The summers which my skin cleared up I was outside a great deal 10+ hours a day doing a lot of physical activity, I'll do my best to get outside more, since I do a lot of running and physical exercise, however, its all been inside because of the winter. The other puzzling factor is that my skin clears up over winter break, where I spend the majority of my time indoors away from school. So...I am at a bit of a dilemma. I don't know if I should focus on my diet as much as I
  9. Hi, this is my first post here. However, I've been reading this site for a while now. Anyway, my issue is about figuring out what causes my acne. I am 21 now with i'd say mild acne, occasionally makes its way to moderate but I think thats just my perspective. It was quite severe all of a sudden (literally no acne to severe in a couple of months) when I was about 17, been on medication since. Now that I am in college it's been a goal of mine to get clear skin. It seems though every summer near th
