  1. scars usually become more visible during the tane treatment and after…. but with time they might get better, although not in my case:) If by marks you mean pigmentation, it will definitely get lighter or disappear within 2-3 years on its own or faster if you do treatments (laser etc…) I agree with the above post-accutane does not treat scars but it sounded from your post that you expected it to. In any case, dryness should have subsided by now but if it did not then that has to be addressed with dermatologist. My oil returned 1 months after accutane was stopped. But oil returned together with acne as before:) good luck to you!

I know I've been through it all. But my point is I used to have very smooth skin and very mild acne I never had any scars. What has given me scars Is the initial breakout with accutane which has left me with old looking skin!

well then, you have to leave it be for now and treat scars with laser or some other alternative late,r because, in my opinion and from my personal experience, scars do not get significantly better unless you laser treat them or just accept them as they are.:)

  3. Thanks for the reply but I dont think you understand me.

I'm saying... the acne.org BP treatment is no longer available at Amazon.com. When will it become available... or should i just order it from this (acne.org) site now, and not bother waiting for it to get restocked over at Amazon?

I like ordering it from Amazon as the shipping to the UK is somehow cheaper.

EDIT: By the looks of things, there are a few acne.org products that need restocking.

Order from ebay.co.uk same prices as on amazon.com

  4. If our faces are only there for the purpose of attracting a partner (in your case- a girl) you will have a long journey to learn that it is not…. We get in life challenges of different types- illnesses, money lack, body issues, bad habits, addictions etc… and the reason we have them is to find a way to overcome them and get better in the process. We get better when we change attitudes, life styles, scale of values etc…. your world should not evolve around your acne issues and you can change it. What did you try for treatments by the way? Have you tried BP? Another reply here says your pictures are not as bad as you say so maybe psychiatrist is the person you need to see.

  5. Try allergenics gentle medicated shampoo. It has no SLS, parabens and other bad stuff. I have seborrheic dermatitis and that is what i use. In fact any shampoo that does not have SLS and parabens would be good for you. Not washing your hair every day is not a good advice, in my opinion. There are many organic brands that sell shampoos and conditioners with good ingredients. Conditioners might not be necessary for oily hair but washing it every day should be.

It could be due to hormones making your hair oily. That's my problem and I'm trying to treat it without birth control. That crap is death ahaha. You need paraben, sulfate, and silicone free shampoo. Certain ingredients can clog your pores on your scalp and will cause acne. I'm about to switch shampoo so this can fix my problem

hello do sulfate paraben shampoo solved your problem?

you have to use shampoo without sulfates and parabens. They will not help your hair and will make it worse.

  6. The cause could be that accutane does not help everyone. After completing accutane treatment I had all my acne return to previous state after one month. On top I had half of my hair fall off:) I hope your case is different and your acne does not return to what it was before. The only thing that keeps me clear now is dan's regimen and I wish I tried it before doing accutane treatment. All the best to you!:)

  7. What is it that you enjoy doing? If you do not know then spend time discovering what it might be. If you stay at home a lot, spend your time productively….reading, drawing, writing….whatever you chose use it to share or express your state of mind:) Do not keep your feelings inside, find a way to express them and share. What treatments you are on? Have you tried regimen? There is always a way around everything, we just have to find it. Finding a way is the process of life:) Do not despair:) If everything in life was easy there would be no progress of any kind(spiritual, mental, physical) possible… Good luck in your search!:)

  8. Absolutely 100% do it! Im currently on my last month of Accutane, and it is the best decision I've ever made. My skin is flawless, I haven't had a pimple in months, its such a great feeling! My acne wasn't as bad as some peoples, but it was noticeable, so I'm sure yours will clear up too. The amount your derm prescribed you is fine also. Im 115' and was taking 80 mg a day at one point (that was a bit too much, wayyy too dry) but anywhere from 40/60 should be perfect.

I hope everything works out! You won't regret it

thank you so much for the encouragement!! I really was so excited with my dermatologist's positivity about me trying it, but as soon as some of my family found out they REALLY discouraged me from it, which only caused me to worry about it! I'm so glad to hear that it has worked for you

    >I had perfect skin up until I was 17, when I started getting mild acne. It was no big deal, but it slowly got worse over the course of a year. When I was 18, it completely blew up and became an absolute mess. I'd say a good 2-3 years of my life were ruined due to acne.

So my point being... If your acne is continually getting worse, and you have tried everything, you should get on Accutane now. Sure there is a chance that it won't get any worse, but I personally wouldn't want to take that risk. Plus, you've been OFFERED this medication which is extremely hard to obtain especially with cases of mild acne.

One question, have you ever been on birth control?

thanks for the reply. You're right about taking advantage of the offer. It seems A LOT of people with mild acne are desperate for it and have a lot of trouble getting it. And surprisingly this was my first time every seeing the dermatologist who prescribed it. (I had seen another in the past).

and no, i have never been on birth control. I feel like my acne isn't really hormonal though because it seems like there are constant clogged pores/blackheads all across my face.

There is a good chance it might help. There is also an equal chance of accutane not helping long term and giving you side effects for life. Before you start it read the negative side effects on this website and see what kind of problems people end up and deal with years on after taking accutane. I took it, and it helped while I was on it. Once my treatment finished acne returned as before, plus I lost 50% of my hair which took me 2 years to grow back. Have you tried spire or birth control pills, have you tried regimen? If its mild, maybe some other solution can be found. Good luck!

thanks for the input! I've definitely been reading a ton of forums on accutane, not just the good but also the bad. The side effects do concern me, and honestly if my hair starting falling out I think i would have to discontinue the treatment (or if i started experiencing any really bad side effects). I really hate to hear that about your hair, but i'm glad that it is growing back.

I haven't tried the acne.org regimen, but for a VERY long time i did a strict skin care regimen of washing my face with a BP cleanser, using Benzaclin, and then moisutrizer which seems to be very similar.

I did use PB before I tried regimen and it did not do much but, for the last 2 years dan' regimen seemed to prove the only thing that works for me. Side effects sometimes do not stop, even if you stop taking accutane….it depends on each person. Having said that in my own family 3 people have been on accutane in the 80s and they had fantastic results. My hair started to fall out 1 month after I finished taking accutane, there are some people who had hair falling out months after finishing. So, just because you plan to stop taking it when you hair falls out would not mean it immediately reverse the effect. I say, if your acne is not severe look for some other solutions. :)

  10. My oil returned 1 month after I finished my course. And it has returned together with acne!

    Oh no.

    Going to take another course?

no, because it did not help me. I also lost half of my hair after accutane. Too risky to try again. Hairloss is nothing compared to other side effects people suffer long term. Just look at the thread about negative side effects post accutane. I use dan's regimen, it helps.

I'm glad Dan's regimen helps you. Do you ever get cysts at all?

I used to get them all the time and BP never helped except when I tried it with Dan's products in the way he advices:) I just wish I tried his regimen before I tried accutane. I assumed it would not help me because I tried BP before and it did nothing:) So I hope whatever you chose it helps you:)

  12. the brand is Dr. Song 2.5% BP gel

    http://www.amazon.com/Benzoyl-Peroxide-Song-Treatment-Lotion/dp/B00DFEGDVS/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1410292774&sr=8-12&keywords=acne.org

you can check reviews by those who bought it and half of them are ex acne.org users. hope that helps;)

I buy all from amazon. Excessive postage fees on acne.org makes it impossible for me to order directly from this website. Today, I found another brand that sells on amazon a very good alternatives to acne.org products which you can buy cheaper and with guaranteed delivery by amazon. Good luck to you:)

Do you mind sharing the alternative brand you found? I'm starting to get quite tired of the super slow and expensive shipping of acne.org products, even from amazon.

  13. one should question what is the purpose of any religion if it is so easy to put a judgement upon somebody depending on looks… you are exactly what you call the person in front of you… if you call someone a devil or 'marked by devil' it might be you just revealed a truth about yourself and who you are…. it applies to all we say about others…we are that exact thing we call the other…. if you call someone ugly or stupid you should be looking for these qualities inside yourself, there should be infinity of ugliness and stupidity to be discovered within the person who calls these names upon another…..:)

  14. I am type 1 diabetic and I took accutane. It cleared me wonderfully while I was taking the drug but, 1 month after I finished the course my acne returned to be just as before. Also I lost what felt like half of my hair (it took 2 years to grow it back). In my family, 3 people took accutane in 80s and it helped them a lot without any side effects. With me, because I was type 1 diabetic, accutane did not give lasting effects. I am clear now only through using regimen. Another thing, I was on a low dosage for 6 months. (20 mg day and 30mg for 1 month). It is best, if your acne is not severe, not to gamble with accutane but look for other solutions.

  15. Just for those of you who might be interested. I took accutane or 7 months most of the time with the 20mg dose except for 1 month, taking 30mg. My hair loss started 1 month after I finished my course and at the same time when acne returned to what it was before. My hair was falling out non stop for 6 months. I thought I lost 60% of it but trycologist told me I lost only 30% and out of this 10% hair loss was permanent. He said it would take 2 years to fully recover to what my hair was before without taking anything. But if I wanted something faster I can do biotin and treatments although they are not necessary. I decided to take 5 hair treatments (lamp therapy) and I was taking 20.000mg of biotin daily. If you want biotin to help you need to take at least 5000mg per day no less(i took even more). My hair started to grow thicker within 6 months of me taking biotin and doing hair treatments occasionally. I would say biotin is the best, treatments were more like a placebo pill for me:) I have very thick straight asian hair. After accutane my hair was growing wavy(as in bad perm wiery) and thin and of different colour… I have naturally black hair and it grew ginger. It does get better but it seems like an endless struggle when you see your hair falling every time you take a shower. My hair was falling into my food when I was eating..it was disgusting! lol I wish all who suffer hair loss to be brave and have faith. Do take biotin! I do not believe biotin gave me any breakouts but I am on a regimen so maybe if I was not it would….Good Luck to all!:)

  16. If you lose a lot of hair for more than one month then you will not recover it quickly. You will recover it within 2 years. Biotin helps in high doses. My situation was a bit different from yours because I started loosing hair 1 month after I finished accutane course. I went for several treatments with trichologist but most effective was just taking biotin daily 20,000mcg. From what I read it often happens that people who have hairloss during the treatment usually recover faster, often as soon as they stop taking accutane but it is also not try for everyone. Good luck!
