  1. Best Products for Sensitive Skin. Period.

I have been using Vanicream/Free-and-Clear products for many years now. I started with this lotion here but soon after started using their heavy lotion, facial cleanser, sunscreen, skin-protectant, and even shampoo and conditioner. Vanicream has nearly replaced all of my non-sensitive skin compliant products. This lotion, though, is the best lotion I have ever found to hydrate and nourish the skin, without feeling greasy, and without causing irritation - the most important point of al
  2. Hi, there! There are quite a few sources you can pull up with testimonials about the efficacy of ultra-low dosing like this. Many of which are found on Acne.org. But the one official source I would cite is the study by Dr. Plewig. If you do a quick google search it should come up right away. I wouldn't look to Accutane again, quite yet. Give the Retin-A some time. If you started breaking out after using the Retina-A, that is completely normal in the beginning. In terms of drug function, Re
  3. My experiences with ultra low doses of Accutane are written throughout this thread! Please do go back in the pages to check them out. To update, it has been roughly two years since I began the ultra low-dose process and things are still great. For about 5 months now, I have only been taking one 20mg pill every two or even three weeks. This low of a dose is what I feel comfortable with and it still keeps me clear. I have gone as long as a month without taking a pill but it's at that 4 week mark
  4. Hi there, PrimedCougar. I would say anywhere between 2.5 and 5 milligrams a day. Since you usually don't see doses that small, low-dose users often take 10 milligrams every other day. Eventually, once you have cleared, maintenance doses of 10 milligrams every one to two weeks can be plenty to stay clear. Again, all of this with imperceptible side effects. Take care!
  5. Hi there, AnotherAffected. There is nothing I can say but that I empathize with what you have gone through. However, I could not imagine struggling with it for as long as you have. It really is time to take control of your life and acne and I think ultra low-dose Accutane could be your answer. http://[link removed]/ this is the link to my dermatologist's website. She is a great woman who really truly understands what a life with acne can feel like. Make time to go see her! Initially, like a
  6. Well, hydrocortisone is an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid. The stuff can be used for any inflammatory response on the skin. Acne is nothing but an inflammatory response, so hydrocortisone works perfectly for acne in moderation. You don't want to use it all over the face because extensive use of topical corticosteroids can cause thinning of the skin because they interfere with production of collagen. spot treating a pimple that comes up, hydrocortisone is perfect and greatly effective. Well
  7. It's not problem, really. That's why we have these forums. And to answer your question, no I don't for the most part. Only Polysporin or hydrocortisone if I do happen to get a bump. Thanks. how about sunburn from accutane ? you don't experience that? Not really on the low dose, no. One pill a week isn't much and doesn't affect sun sensitivity greatly. Not to say that I don't put on sunscreen when I head to the beach or go out on the boat -- I do of course. But when it comes to putting it on

  9. Don't put anything else on your face while you are on any dosage of accutane. It is not necessary and will not expedite the process. Simply wash your face with a gentle cleanser and apply an effective moisturizer like Vanicream lite lotion.
  10. I have not had any hair loss that is for sure. I also never experienced any depression while on the medication. However, like anyone will tell you, the medicine reacts differently with everyone. I guess your only comfort lies in the statistical evidence that there are more people who DO NOT experience the serious side effects than those who do. If you are going to take Accutane and are worried about the side effects make sure that, in the case that they do occur, that the benefit of not having

  13. Accutane will help with any acne anywhere on the body. If your concern is whether or not it will help your back and chest acne, you need not fret! Rest assured it will help!
  14. Fair enough, but please don't assume ignorance of people just because they are taking the medication. I can assure you that I, as well as many others, have done countless hours of research on Accutane, specifically on ultra low-dosing, and have read the warnings and opposition. Often, it is safe to assume that if someone is even taking the time to post on an acne related website in regard to Accutane, they have probably done research elsewhere as well. Simply put, there are far more people who
  15. Thank you for your concern, but keep this thread free of horror stories/warnings, there are various other threads/topics where they are welcome. Most of us understand that there are groups of people out there that experience issues -- issues that may or may not be caused by Accutane. However, the information in this thread needs to remain positive and on topic with low-dose Accutane, and the experiences associated with said doses.
