  1. Actually, since the age of 0 we are aging. We get older every day and this is old news. Collagen is a type of fiber found in the dermis, which is below the epidermis. Skin cell turn over in the epidermis occurs every 30 days, or every month I am uncertain of the speed at which collagen regenerates. Fibroblasts create collagen, and when there is damage to the dermis, it depends on the individual's cellular structure and ultimately genetics. Some people are able to heal from acne scarring faste
  2. This was so nice to read. NOW, I just need to find a man who has the same mindset. Such struggles :(
  3. I know what you are going through completely. I had depression because of my acne. It sucks. And it's solely genetics. A part of it is truly accepting that you have acne and scars and just have to deal with it. The way I view having the skin condition is this: we can't trade our skin with anyone else, you are given the skin you are given and you have to work with it. Now, clearing up acne and getting rid of scarring is completely possible, so there is a reason to still have hope. Unfortunately,
  4. It depends on the person. For me, the red has faded to brown and it takes a while. Using AHA, vitamin c serums, and BHA helps TONS. Look at the [Removed] on reddit for more help. Also, tons of h20
  5. Side effects were mainly very dry lips, very mild joint cracking, and unfortunately quite a bit of hair loss. But the dry lips was the main factor, just make sure you drink plenty of water and you will be fine!
  6. Hey all, I have made a during and after accutane photo set. If any of you have questions for me, I would be glad to answer. I can just say that I have changed quite a bit now that I do not constantly think about my skin anymore.
  7. It has been over a year since I have been off of Accutane. Currently dealing with acne scarring, but no more active acne or breakouts; also currently using dan's regimen and doing at home scar treatment.
  8. It A question, did you have scarring prior to starting accutane or was this a result of taking it? I am praying that your skin gets better with time and that you wait for a year or longer to assess your skin... I had scarring prior to accutane actually. Wow thank-you, that means a lot if you did pray for me. It DOES mean a lot. I'm convinced God wants me to go through this skin issue, but it takes a major toll on my confidence and how I want to act around other people
  9. I was on 40mg most of the time at 114lbs at 5'3". Should I cancel my laser appointment? It's not technically a laser, but moreso a light therapy, it's heated though. Wow, I'm kind of angry that my dermatologist didn't take that into account, my skin doesn't even look like it's healing at all. & is it an issue for me, it depressing me soewhat because I'm a girl... I feel like people think I am dirty or don't take care of myself because I have these dents and marks all over my face, I'm terrif
  10. Been off accutane for almost 3 months Dents are literally scattered across my face: forehead, temples, cheeks, between eyebrows & jawline Hyperpigmentation is mainly on my cheeks & somewhat on my temples and forehead I am just getting so tire of looking in the mirror at my 18 year old skin and it already looks like I have the skin of a 46 year old. I don't drink, smoke or do drugs and my skin looks so unhealthy. Right now, I am going to be using bio-oil on my temples and a bit of m
  11. I'm still taking 15 more pills because my next fucking appointment is in April. I'm 17, 5'3", around 120 lbs and at 40mg. I've been on 40 mg for 5 months and he said if I went any higher my limbs would fall off. I have absolutely NO faith that my skin is going to get better. I still break out before my fucking period and my scars and skin is so fucking red. My scarring has gotten so much worse. My skin isn't smooth, but bumpy Jd I look so gross. Honestly... EVERYONE has gotten clear by this time
  12. to stop feeling bad about myself, to make videos, to take pictures of myself and not feel horrible, to feel normal in public, to actually talk normally to people and not feel so insecure, so i don't have to feel like i always need to prove myself, so i could stop being so awkward and gross
  13. It's your choice to spend your time waiting or going to school. I completely understand why you want to wait. I'm actually graduating this year and considering just picking my diploma and not attending the actual graduation.
  14. I agree with perhaps going back to school and studying something that you personally find interesting. Who knows, maybe you'll meet people who are going through skin issues.
