  1. Wow, sorry it took me so long to see these! I was originally supposed to take 4 months of accutane, but my derm decided to give me an extra month. I did blu-light three times a week for two weeks in December, then once in January and once in February. I was actually surprised that the derm prescribed it to me alongside accutane as well! Honestly, I don't think it really helped my skin, but I guess I'll never know.

  4. Accutane shouldn't do anything to your period, as it doesn't affect hormones. Every birth control has different effects on different people, so you could consider switching. I know Yaz is notorious for causing bad cramps. Conversely, you could just not take BC, since they only force you to get on BC so that you can't sue them if you wind up with a child with defects.

I woke up with a bit of a monster zit this morning, but it's pretty much the only one. I get about 3 new actives per week, but they go away by the next morning.   7. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalleluja! ...my acne is 95% GONE. Everybody always says that as soon as one flaw disappears, another one takes its place, but I can honestly say that hasn't happened.   8. So accutane decided to kick it into high gear in the past week. My lips finally cracked on the side (lovely, I know) and my nose is really dry feeling on the inside, when I breathe. Luckily, my face is clearing up! Today it looked really good, I only had to put a tiny but of concealer on, which is pretty big for me. Bad news is, as I was washing my face for the night, I felt a few budding cysts and stuff, so I am hoping and praying that they'll abandon ship and just go away!
  9. Very angry, frustrated, and depressed. I'm breaking out a fair deal, about 4 cysts on my jawline, and 4 or 5 whiteheads elsewhere. Combine that with all my PIH, and its just really discouraging. I've been finding it hard to control the urge to pick at my skin as well, so that is a major contributor. I'm just really down that it's been 75 days and I have very little to show for it.

  11. Month 3! I suffered a little breakout in the past few days, since I was very stressed a couple weeks ago with exams, but it's started to recede. Hyperpigmentation is also going away, and my skin is looking better than it has in months. I've had to moisturise much more often as well, and my lips are getting dryer, particularly on the corners.   12. Seeing a dermatologist really helps me, and I don't just mean in terms of clearing my skin. Of course, the product working is the best, but it gives me a lot of security to know that I am being aggressive in trying to rid myself of acne by seeing a derm, starting a new regimen, or trying a new antibiotic, so I can look in the mirror thinking that my situation is being taken care of, and it gives me peace of mind.

It's a very self-esteem crushing disease, and I'm truly sorry that you had to deal with bullying from friends, but if you let yourself succumb to insecurity and low self-esteem, you are letting acne have power over you, and you are letting it ruin your life. Let's skip right to the point! - Skin is very dry- applying moisturizer liberally - Lips are flaky and crusty- putting on some nivea lotion/burts bees chapstick - Crusty dry rash on left arm- more nivea lotion.   23. I've been feeling pretty down lately. In all honesty, my skin hasn't improved from the start. Obviously, I don't expect to be clear yet, but a little progress would be nice.   24. I can relate. Sometimes I feel like parties or vacations would be so much better if I wasn't worrying about my face or having to put on make-up. I have to add though, since one thing in your post really bothered me: a no-carb diet is very unhealthy. Actually, a no-fat, no-sugar diet is unhealthy as well. It's fine to reduce your intake, since most people eat too much anyways, but the only things that you should cut out entirely are caffeine, fast food, and anything that's been processed.
  25. They're typically dimmer and wash you out, so it's actually one of the better lights to be in. In addition, fluorescent lights actually have a green cast, which cancels out a bit of redness. The above part sucks though, because you get all the shadows and highlights where you don't want them :/ Sunlight is probably the absolute worst though.
