  1. A mark on my cheek will not go away and need advice! It has been 5 months and it is completely disappointing. I normally get large pimples that leave flat red marks that go away. I had a large Pimple on my cheek that popped on its own because it was coming to a head. After that, I have a strange Red mark that is raised with a little hole in the middle. It looks as though the pimple just popped last night, but this was 5 months ago! I can't believe it has been this long. It just will not go a
  2. I have consulted with multiple plastic surgeons, laser specialists etc and none seem to think they will get me any desired results. I looked into dermabrasion, fraxel etc. I have hypopigmetentation and hypertrophic scars on my back from cycstic acne.. Does anyone know if there is anything that will help? If nothing is going to work I think i am ready to look into one big tattoo to cover the area effected... anyone ever try this?
  3. So i have a dark red spot on my cheek.. It has been there for exactly 9 months Now! it went from dark to light but it is def staying there. I accidentally peeled a scab 9 months ago from a pimple and it just didnt heal. When i went to scrub the scab I feel like i took off some skin. My derm has given me creams but they wont work. does this mean i need to get laser, and which one?
  4. hey there.. if it is cut off by a derm or good plastic surgeon there will be a very faint line left.. better than a scar. I hear pink always fades in time though.. but i def had a hole removed that way and there is barely a line. it was better than the hole though.
  5. I went to a plastic surgeon and had an excision done. Unfortanetly the hole is gone, but it left slightly raised skin tissue and a faint line. My dermatologist told me to get a light dermabrasion and it would like so much better. The plastic surgeon disagreed and didnt want to do the dermabrasion. he sent me to a laser specialist who receommended Fraxel Restore, maybe 6 treatments I could see some improvement, said it was less risky. He also said he would do some TCA Cross for my smaller icepick
  6. I was told I needed four treatments of Fraxel Restore.. but I was told by another doctor to just do a spot dermabrasion. my scar is weird its slightly indented but has a little raised scar tissue. i just want it to blend with my skin. i can live iwth the line. Is spot dermabrasion risky? it seems more substantial then lasering the skin little by little... Please give me suggestions on dermbrasion/vs fraxel thanks
  7. I just realized the actual doctor wouldnt be performing the procedure, but his nurse.. is that normal?
  8. Thanks for the advice Tricia. THey never told me what kind of Fraxel it was, but its a fraxel 1550.. He said i would need 4-6 treatments on the scar but wouldnt do the dermabrasion.. he said the dermabrasion wouldnt work, I don't understand why becuase my dermatologist recommended that for a surgical scar. Should i just go to someone else then? It really felt like he was just selling me fraxel no matter what. thanks
  9. I had a scar revision done by excision.. I was told to use these silicone sheets for three months after. Actually i did see improvement, just tiny improvment but its a tad better.. now im in the process of trying to find someone to do dermbrasion on it. The doctor recommended Fraxel , 4-6 treatments but i dont believe that. my Dermatologist told me a little dermbrasion would be fine.. thoughts?
  10. SO i had a scar revision done by a plastic surgeon. Went well but it left a slight incision line and a little tissue. He told me no problem i just need a little dermabrasion on it and it will blend into the skin. I went to a laser specialist yesterday and he refused to do it and recommended Fraxel Laser. then he went on about how bad my face was when honestly you can barely notice any icepick scars on my cheek they are so small, he kept going on about fraxel laser. felt like he was just selling
  11. Yeah it is def Suture holes. I only had the stitches in 4 1/2 days so my Doc says these will heal.. I am now 3 weeks post Op and I am hoping soon. they are noticable little holes. BUt i guess the skin keeps growing and will heal since he didnt leave them in long. So you had the dermbrasion 3 months after? how significant was the dermbrasion on the incision line? I have a consultation in 4 weeks... You said barely noticable, but Mine is already thin and light so i am hoping it gets to the point
  12. I have about two boxcar scars. they are not too deep. They look liike little pieces of skin indented with rough edges but thin and on the cheeks. What is the best treatment for this? I did an excision to a pockmark, and he suggests this for them, but i dont want lines all over my face. Can't a chemcial peel take care of these since they arent deep? Any side effects to chemcial peel, laser or dermbrasion for lighter surface areas?

  14. Did you ever experience a suture hole? its a tiny hole on the incision. The doctor really just rushed me and I am concerned about this. its leaving a tiny gap in the line. Let me know based on your experience. oh, don't worry about that. I'm still getting holes from my dissolvable stitches which didn't actually dissolve at all but come out instead. They will fill in, it's nothing. These were actually not dissolvable.. regular old stithces. I cant find any info on this online. I have two tiny h
