    Redness And Accutane

Hi, I'm also on Accutane 60 mg a day, now almost done with my second month. I'm only 114 pounds so I was worried at first that it was too high of a dosage but my derm assured me that if I had too many problems I could lower it immediately. So far, no really major side effects... EXTREMELY dry but everything else seems to be fine. My acne is drying up and disappearing really quickly but I noticed my face flushes even more than before now. It's bearable, only from time to time, but I don't think A
  2. I'm on day 44 of accutane and my skin has been so dry for really long now, even though I had really really oily skin before accutane. But this week, the oil seems to be coming back, mainly in my T-zone. It's a lot less than before Accutane but it's still oily. Has this happened to anyone before?
  3. Thank you for the reply! I hope so too!
  4. Has anyone on Accutane with still healing piercings gotten weird bumps like hypergranulation tissue? Both of my cartilage piercings were 7 months old and about 70% healed and weren't causing any trouble until I started Accutane. Within a month of starting, both cartilage piercings developed these raw, red looking bumps on the fronts and backs of the piercing holes. I've never had any problem before and these bumps won't go away no matter what.
  5. My derm recommended Dr. Dan's Cortibalm, it's made especially for accutane patients!

    Really Dry Skin

Yes this is perfectly normal. I'm on the same dosage as you and almost done with my first month and my skin is so dry it's literally peeling off my face. I have dry lines extending from both sides of my lips and I have to apply Aquaphor like 10 times a day.

    Low Dose Accutane

I'd think low dose accutane would take longer to start working since it would have to build up in your system enough, plus the onset of side effects seems to be much later, which might indicate that it would take longer to take effect. I'm on 60 mg and I'm about 52kg and I noticed huge changes in my skin (not all good) within the first week.
  8. Anyone get clogged pores that look like little things are coming out in the first month of Accutane or so? I started out with a million blackheads and now it's just this white hard-ish stuff coming out of my pores for the past week.
  9. I've been on accutane for almost a month and I've noticed my skin drying out but another weird thing is that I'm getting a huge amount of scabs... Every little bump that appears on my skin turns into a scab within the next day or even overnight. When I wake up in the morning, I look in the mirror and see about 4 or 5 new scabby spots on my skin. Is this normal? Almost all the old acne on my face have become black scabs, and I think this almost looks worse than acne. :/
  10. Same, I've been asking all my friends about my hair and they all say they don't see anything different. But I've gotten so paranoid that I get really scared every time I see one strand of hair fall out, but it's strange since I never remembered seeing random strands of hair fall out during the day before.... Every time I run my fingers through my hair, another strand comes out :/ Don't know if this is normal or not though. Really don't want to stop accutane anyways so I guess I'll just deal with
  11. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I've noticed my hair falling out slightly more than before and I've been on Accutane for almost 3 weeks. I never took pictures of my scalp before so I don't have anything to compare this picture to, but does it look like I have bald spots?

    Considering Accutane

Hi, I'm currently on Accutane. 60 mg/day for the first month and tomorrow will be my 13th day on Accutane. I think you should ask your derm for a low dose starting out but my derm didn't believe in low doses so I just started out at 60. I've noticed quite a lot of side effects in only 2 weeks but nothing I can't handle or severe enough to stop me from taking the drug. I honestly am considering asking for 40 mg next month though because some of the side effects are quite bothersome. I don't have
  13. I bought some sensodyne and it seems to have helped a lot! Still slight bleeding when brushing my teeth, but at least my gums don't look like they're bleeding all the time.
  14. Thanks for the recomendations. I'm still waiting for my appointment on monday. I didn't know you could ask for things. I thought they kinda just look at you and give what they think is best. Generally, do antibiotics do a good job of preventing acne? If they do I couldn't care less about any side effects tbh. Minocycline, doxycycline and tetracycline all helped a lot for me to stop cysts and mostly inflammatory acne. Bactrim didn't really do much for me at all. I'm not sure about the effective
