  1. You can always wrap a clean towel around your pillow each night to see if its your pillow doing it. I mainly get new white heads around my mouth, and for me I had to start brushing my teeth before i put on acne medication. Cause doing it afterwards I think might have been washing away some of the topicals.
  2. I'm 24, soon to be 25 and felt similar a year ago. I felt basically the same way, and was in a 'wait it out' period. It eventually dawned on me that this is it, and it really depressed me. Instead of seeking help I ended up self-medicating and fell into a bad place and ruined the few good things I had going for me. I've been seeing a therapist for a few months now and feel better than I have in a long time. My outlook on the future has changed and I'm becoming the person I've always wanted to be
  3. I think its more of an individual experience, and its hard to measure suffering. It seems girls will say they dont mind acne on a guy, and that guys are only interested in their appearance. And guys will say they dont mind acne on a girl, and dont solely judge by appearance. Then there is usually a consensus that women suffer more because of society pushing the image of beauty/perfection for women. 4. Thanks for the info & clarification! I'll start changing my razor blades more often to see if that helps the pimples around my mouth. The chemical peel might be something to look into. I originally thought peels were for people who were past acne, and were looking to clean up their scars. I looked up cysts/nodules, I think the only place I get them (nodules, unsure about cysts) now are on the back of my neck, upper/lower back, and thighs. Hopefully this means the proactiv is helping
  5. I like how we're stuck with these memories now, when the people who said this stuff probably forgot the next day. Volunteered at an after school program for elementary school kids. Just moved a small group of kids from a 'homework help' area to the schools gym, and one of the girls sort of waited around me until everyone else was playing and asked if what I had was contagious. And then I did a horrible job of explaining how some people get acne when they're older, and she freaked out saying s
  6. Like everyone else said, you just need to see her in person again and just ask. There was a few years between when I first got acne to when I got the nerve to ask someone out again. I've never regret asking anyone out even if they've said no. Always better to know where you stand. I'm curious to know how it goes for you.
  7. I've never posted pictures of my acne before and would like to get some feedback plus options you think that could help. A few months ago I just couldn't take it anymore and decided to get serious about taking care of my skin. For the past 3 months I've been using Proactiv morning/night, exercising every other day, and have cut soda out of my diet. I'm not getting as many new pimples as I used to, but still every few days there will be 3-4 that just show up. I've also got fairly bad acne
