  1. Hello, I just thought I'd share my story post accutane, since I was always interested in reading those while I was on it. I have a log (http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php/topic/305661-oh-my-accutane/), but I kinda stopped after a month I think, so it's not that interesting. I started out on accutane with persistant mild/moderate acne, started breaking out a bit more the first month and then started clearing up. I was completely clear after about 2 1/2 months. I started out on 40 mg an
  2. Thanks for your reply I've read some things about bcp's causing pcos too, but I don't really know what to believe... I can't change the fact I was on bc for 4 years anyway and I've been off it for a year now and not really thinking about starting again (but i probably will some time in my life). I have no idea if I'm insulin resistant. Is that a given when you have pcos? I guess that's why you should eat low GI food, to keep your blood sugar stable. I'm not overweight though, i'm slightly under
  3. I do this too, all the time. I notice i don't do it so much when i'm with other people (not really an attractive look) or if i'm wearing lipstick/lipgloss. I used to keep my fingernails really short, so that i couldn't pick with my fingers, but then i started pulling with my teeth Mweh it's annoying, but I wouldn't worry about it too much, everyone has a nervous habit and my best advice is: keep yourself busy.
  4. I found out about my pcos about a year ago, when I hadn't had a period in 3 months. I got some sort of hormone pill to get back on my cycle again, and it worked fine. But my period was always pretty irregular. The months before it went away i had completley cramp-free periods and my gyno said that's an indication that I wasn't ovulating during those months. I've always had lots dark, thick hair on my legs, pubic, armpits and eyebrows and that's supposed to be a symptom. But that's how i've been
  5. Oh that's new, my gynaecologist said nothing about it possibly going away. I did read about exercising and a better diet being helpful, so I should really start doing that... How did you de-stress? Did you have many symptoms? And did they also go away?
  6. Hi, Just recently I was diagnosed with pco-syndrome. My symptoms are: - acne - diffuse hair loss - irregular menstrual cycle A gynaecologist did an ultrasound on me and confirmed my suspicions, I have pcos. Now basically she said there's not much you can do, except go on birth control. The thing is, I have been on birth control (diane35) for 3 years, and although it helped my acne a little, the hair loss started while I was on it. I've been off it for a year now, and my hair stayed the sam

  8. Ohh, I didn't know you were taking a break from it, when are you starting again? I like your quote, but it's about where you see yourself on the 'self-esteem schale" right? English is not my first language, so sorry if i'm not interpreting it correctly, but self-esteem itself just means "knowing what your worth" right? It's another thing to talk about high or low self-esteem. It's true, it's not really accepted to have low self-esteem, if you do, you "should" work on it or go to a therapist.
  9. Love The National I know the song yes, not this version though, she's great! I'm going to look at some other songs thanks And about the scars, I think it doesn't really matter.. Though if they're big pores, they might shrink because of accutane, but icepicks don't shrink (as far as i know). I actually want to try apple cider vinegar, but maybe it's not a great combo with accutane... Although my face is not senstive. Or maybe i should just wait till i'm clear and then worry about the damag
  10. When I'm not too lazy to do it, it's usually about a minute for each leg. Any more than that and my skin actually gets annoyed. I drink lots of tea, too, but only because otherwise I'd never sleep at night. I've tried the coffee grounds thing too, because I have one of those newfangled coffee machines that grinds the beans and makes (pretty mediocre) "real coffee", but it was just gross and messy and I was pretty sure I'd end up with a blocked shower drain. The things we do for beauty... Do yo
  11. Oehh sounds like you're off to a good start Happy belated birthday (can you even say that?) Did you have a party?
  12. I follow her videos on youtube and her skin is looking way better now! Still a very good video though, but yugh some people are so awful in the comments: "wtf .. that is so fake. Without makeup she looks like a troll. Cant believe you can hide that. Hopefully it will disappear cause that shit on your face looks bare ugly" I used to wear a LOT of foundation as well, and i knew people could still see my acne (make up can only do so much, the bumps stay visible), but i kind of felt like if i wa
  13. Have you tried other bc pills? If so, maybe you can look into other anticonception methods, like a spiral? I hope the break out won't cause you too much pain
  14. I will! I'm not getting my hopes up. I do use a body brush, but not consistently enough. I have it mostly on my left thigh! My right thigh isn't too bad, it's weird... not being too graphic, but my bum on one side isn't too bad, but the other side it's like... what?! Like my backside is made from two different people. Cellulite sucks. I heard that drinking too much coffee and diet soft drinks can make it worse, in which case I think I'm stuffed. Don't be too jealous; I don't tan nor do I wear
