  1. I'm 18 and female and I would say my acne was moderate. It wasn't mild-moderate and it was not moderate-severe because I didn't typically suffer from cysts and the like and I was relatively spared from any bodily acne. The thing is that my acne was so very, very stubborn and as soon as one spot disappeared (which took some time) at least one other would turn up. My skin was always harassed by bumps, puss and scars. I think my acne was/is hormonal, because acne was present no matter if my skin w
  2. Hi, It's been about five months since I stopped taking accutane, I didn't experience a lot of side effects, non too serious. I never stopped taking it during those five months I was on it. Collectively I took 140 mg/kg. I had nicer skin than I've had for years up until June when stubborn spots started to appear, now in July they won't go away. I have it on my forehead, cheeks, nose, chin and one or two around my mouth. I think you can understand me when I say this is beyond horrible for
  3. Is there anything else than Salicylic Acid? It really doesn't do anything for me (the few times it does it only aggravates it). I'd love to squeeze it out, but majority of these pimples aren't all that close to the skin even though it looks like it. If I get a noticably white pimple I gently squeeze it out. I have a lot of under-skin zits on my cheeks. It look horrible!
  4. Hi There! I am so frustrated and I really need some help, my acne was moderately severe about a year ago, then I was put on some antibiotics and it got better but I had to stop (because... well there's a time mark). I am going back to the derm. in a few months but I don't want to be put back onto the antibiotics. BP doesn't work anymore and my face is constantly feeling oily (this happened after I had used ProActive a while back), if I drag a finger over my forehead it will typically be shiny
  5. I loathe Salicylic Acid, it has never done anything good for my skin and if anything happens, it makes things worse for me. My acne is very persistant and Salicylic Acid is way too weak for me. So I'm going to have to say Benzoyl Peroxide.
  6. I got an appointment with a dermatologist tomorrow, so I'll probably be kicking the stuff I waited pantiently with ProActiv, but still having a lot of pimples surfacing after over two weeks is kind of weird, especially in places were I never get pimples, plus I hate my skin being so greasy. I mean so what if I get a little greasy but it's a LOT in this case. BP works best for me, but the formula that was the best for me so far has been discontinued (even with the BP I still couldn't get rid of
  7. I guess I could look at it like that, this made me feel a little better :) Did your mother go with you to your dermatologist? Your answer made my teary, I feel so bad about my acne. I really hope that this derm will be able to clear it up because if my acne get any worse I'm not sure what I'd do. Feels good to know that other people have been in my place and that I'm not totally alone (even though I'd never wish acne on anyone). we all feel really bad about acne, i know it sucks. the th
  8. Hi! I'm 16 and a girl and I have very persistant acne, especially on my cheeks and forehead,. I've never had much problem on my temples, my nose and especially my mouth. Let me just say that my mouth = never any real problem. I may have had a pimple or two (really small ones) a few times but nothing too embarassing. So I started using ProActiv over two weeks ago, and my result: My skin has gotten very oily (something I never had a problem with before) and I have more inflammed pimples. I am
  9. I know!! And people that don't and have never had a real problem acne think that they know everything about good skin, they're just fortunate. I've tried several things, amongst others: Neutrogena Formula 10.0.6 Clinique Basiron Stioxyl Epiduo I'm currently on ProActiv but it's making my skin so oily and shiny and new pimples have come up, not even after two weeks anything is better. eeeeh, ProActiv didn't work for me. I have heard that it doesn't work as well as they say
