  1. Day 94 It's kind of weird that I started this whole thing back in July and it's already mid October! I don't think people are even still reading this...but whatever! My face was looking incredibly clear. but this past week it's been acting kind of funny. I'm starting to break out along my jawline/neck/under my chin. I think that's because I've started using the tretinoin there. My skin has also gone back to that really dry state so I even skipped the tretinoin for a couple days. I think th
  2. I've continued using vaseline and bio oil on the rest of my body. yeah i know a lot of oils are supposed to be really good for your skin (like lavender). thanks aw yeah it sucks at first but it'll be worth it Day 80 I had a derm appt today. I showed the doc the scarring on my back from acne. He told me to put the tretinoin on it so it will take away the discoloration (which my mom will have t do because I can't reach back there...). He said the really dark spots are because I have an olive
  3. Day 72 These pictures were actually taken yesterday, right after I woke up and washed my face. As you can see, a lot of the acne is gone but there is still scarring and dark patches. without flash: left cheek right cheek forehead chin with flash: left cheek right cheek
  4. Day 69 today marks: 10 weeks and 1 day with acanya+glytone 7 weeks and 2 days with tretinoin 4 weeks and 6 days with avene 2 weeks and 3 days with solodyn the current condition of my skin is amazing compared to day one. I will post pictures this weekend. nearly all the small bumps are gone. acne is still there though and there are a couple dark spots. Since the solodyn is taken orally, i hope it is fighting against my body acne. As i said before, I was having some trouble with unexpec
  5. Day 62 Nothing much to report....i havent seen any improvements since the last post. 3 things i'm worried about: 1) i've been getting like no sleep since school start. sleep is when your skin heals, so i know a lack of sleep is bad i'm getting like 4-5 hours of sleep a night because of homework :/ 2) alssooo my back is STILL breaking out. i have no clue why. it's looking even worse and this weekend i'm going on a retreat with my school. that means living in a cabin for 4 days with a bunch of g
  6. thank you! i'm so happy the improvements are becoming very noticeable
  7. thanks so much it feels great to hear that
  8. Day 54 I started the solodyn yesterday. I take them with dinner (one tablet a day); they are very tiny, but the doctor said the dosage was appropriate for my weight (however i gained 5 pounds hehe xD) So of course, too soon to tell anything from the pills. I don't even know if they'll have a noticeable effect because my skin is beginning to rapidly improve just from the treatment i'm on now. maybe the solodyn will just speed up the improvements even more. Since i started the pills so late after
  9. Day 50 September is the month for improvements! I still have my acne, but at least the texture of my face is getting smoother each day. It's not totally smooth, but it's better than it was! with makeup, i was able to wear my hair up so the tretinoin is really making my skin bipolar. one day my face is peeling and the next i'm oily as can be! i'm leaving for the beach in an hour, so i will start the solodyn when i get back on monday (sorry i keep putting it off ) we called the doc and he said
  10. Day 46 Okay everyone, sorry for not updating...There were two reasons for that: 1) I've been busy with school (would you believe that I have not even been at school for 7 days yet and I am already bombarded with 3 tests and additional work this week?) and 2) because once again there was trouble with the insurance in attaining the solodyn pills. BUT today I have received the solodyn! I am supposed to take them once a day. So, as you would imagine, I could take them right now....but I am going to
  11. Hi everyone! this is kind of a random post, but I just wanted to know how long everyone's been dealing with acne. When I first started getting acne, I thought it'd go away with a couple of years. Of course, that was six years ago, and now it's only beginning to go away with treatment and not on it's own. So how long have you had acne? Do you still have it or was it just something of the past that you had to deal with? It's good to know that we're not alone and maybe some of us are at the same po
  12. aw thanks! ^_^ I'm getting decently clear now - it's a lot better than when i started! so i'm pretty hopeful about the whole situation :) good luck with your treatment!
  13. it's okay to use stuff in the morning. if you're going out in the sun make sure to put on a sunscreen. keep up the moisturizer to alleviate peeling. you can also use BP, my doctor prescribed a bp gel for me which i put on in the morning and at night i put on the retina
  14. it's great to know we're not alone xD should i expect any new breakouts with the solodyn?
