  1. So I've been trying to drink 8 or more glasses of water every day since sometime around the end of June, and I know that staying hydrated helps your skin cells stick together. Is all this water intake affecting the effectiveness of retin a? I'll have areas on my face where it looks like the whiteheads and blackheads are pretty much gone, but then I'll notice some pop up. Is this normal or is all the water I've been drinking causing some of the blackheads and whiteheads to appear?

  3. I was just bumped up from .025% tretinoin (veltin gel) to .04% tretinoin (retin a). My derm said that on veltin gel (which is retin-a just under a different name and a lower dose) it usually takes 6-8 months to see results.

  5. When my derm prescribed me retin-a she said that I could continue using duac. She also said that I could apply them both at night. I found this a little odd since duac contains bp but retin a seems to be working. What exactly does bp do to retinoids?
  6. Ive been on retin-a for just over a month and about a week ago my face started peeling then it stopped after about 3-4 days. Is retin-a still working for me??
  7. Hey everyone! I'm new to this site so I'm not sure if this is where I should post this so I'm sorry it it's not. Anyways I have a question. Will using a topical antibiotic (Duac Topical Gel) affect the initial breakout of Retin-a (I'm using a more generic brand of retin-a known a veltin)? About a month ago my dermatologist prescribed me veltin and said I could continue using duac topical gel along with it. I know that duac topical gel is an antibiotic and that eventually your body begins to bui
