  1. No. It really, really isn't. It's filled with empty carbs taking the place of real food. With these things called nutrients. And on top of that, the refined carbs it's filled with - wheat- damage the intestinal tract. Especially when eaten 4-5 times per day and not eating nutrient dense foods that might counter the harm. Diet can clear hormonal acne. All acne is hormonal, except in the case of pores clogged by topicals or pollutants. And maybe allergic reactions, but there's even a correlatio

  3. This is me, to the T. I also followed Tracy's dietary recommendations and I even went Paleo for 3 months. In all honesty, I don't think it should take THAT long to clear acne with these "holy grail" diets. People say that they break out within a day of having gluten or ice cream yet it's supposed to take months of eating PERFECT to achieve even minimal success? I don't know if I believe that. I found that my skin didn't improve all that much in terms of clarity, however I felt positive because I
  4. I really like Epidermal Renew by Skinceuticals. Their B5 Gel is also great!
  5. Honestly, your diet sounds pretty healthy. While diet does AFFECT acne, it does not CAUSE acne. I don't know what type of acne you have or where you breakout but hormonal acne can not be cured by radically altering your diet. I have hormonal acne, this means that my hormones are out of balance, more specifically my testosterone is too high. My T is not high because of my diet, it just IS. So no matter what I eat, I will continue to break out until I have my hormones balanced. It's true that cert
  6. Well if it helps some people then by all means, take it! Whatever works for you
  7. I've been on it before, for I think a month or two. It didn't help and I saw no improvement. I also don't know how effective antibiotics can be...I mean bacteria is supposed to be on our skin. Acne isn't a result of p. acnes, everyone has that in their skin. It's a product of too much sebum production mixed with the skin's inability to slough off dead layers and thus, clog the pore leading to inflammation and ACNE!
  8. I use extra virgin olive oil on a cotton ball and gently wipe it over my face. I make sure to be very gentle with it of course because I don't want any irritation. Then I cleanse with oatmeal and every other day I use the clarisonic mia with a gentle cleanser.
  9. Do you ladies hear what you're saying? "I have a boyfriend but luckily he lives long distance so I hardly see him"...WHAT IS GOING ON HERE! First off, if these boys can not accept you, flaws and all, they do not deserve you. Looks are certainly not everything. To everyone reading this: If the people that you are dating/talking to/in a relationship with truly care about you as a person and are interested in you, they will not care about your acne. I'm sure they have flaws and albeit they might ha
  10. I don't touch my face with or without make up on. I also noticed that my skin seems better when I DO wear make up. I don't understand it either. I went months (literally) without wearing any foundation and one would think with all the "DON'T PACK ON THE MAKEUP IT CAUSES ACNE" bullshit that it would have more time to heal and get clear. This is seriously a myth. I really don't think acne is caused by foundation, nor do I think makeup can "clog" pores. My pores are clogged all on their own!
  11. Oh, I forgot to mention that the reason I'm avoiding nuts is because (I think) they make my blackheads worse. I know that I'm sensitive to oranges because they make me break out. Maybe there's still something in my diet that I'm sensitive to, but shouldn't I be breaking out then and not getting blackheads? Argh, I don't know, this is all so complicated. I agree cutting out eggs and sweet potatoes isn't a good idea. Actually, I'd rather have blackheads than having to cut out the eggs since they'r
  12. Sorry but am I the only one who instantly thought of Death Eaters when reading the title of this post? I agree with the above post, it looks like a freckle. I really wouldn't be worried about it if I were you. However if you ARE worried about it, you could probably get some mederma for scars or something.
  13. Yeah! There is so a way! You should come to my most recent topic. This guy, moonbeam, has done it with fruit and all! The restrictiveness just adds more stress, more worrying, and thus overall, more acne! We can eat healthy, but we must eat healthy right! I mean our ancestors got all their calories from seeds, leaves, greens, veggies, and fruits. And they were far more active. So that's ruffly about 2000--3000 calories in healthy greens and such. Meats had to be caught, and were obviously organi
