  1. Are you sure it's not due to a change in water?. That water you're currently using may be harder, or less 'agreeable' with you skin, than the water your previously washed with.
  2. I'm genuinely sorry you had your dreams crushed like that, especially with such a promising start. If you don't mind sharing, I would also like to hear the rest of your story.
  3. I agree. It isn't the worst thing in the world to deal with, objectively speaking. To go from clear-skin bliss, to acne nightmare is almost always a life altering event. If someone was to tell me that they suffer with eczema for example, I wouldn't think "Be happy, you could have cancer!", I think "That sucks, I wonder what that's like?". It's all relative and I don't think it's fair to tell someone (especially someone who's life is centred around an illness) that you could have something wor
  4. I left/got kicked out of three colleges because of my acne. If I could go back in time, I'd slap the fuck out of myself and say "The hell's wrong with you?!". I know having visible acne when you have to interact with people is a constant torment, but you need to develop the inner strength to overcome that barrier that's holding you back. Finding a job these days feels like your searching for dat Unicorn and I would think that being jobless, alone with your thoughts would be counter-productive to
  5. Cutting out all chocolate.... All chocolate, and whats the real stuff compared to the fake ha? Well I work with chocolate and the real dark chocolate can be very beneficial for you, as it's extremely high in anti-oxidants(unless you react badly to cocoa mass). I only asked because it may actually be the sugar, vegetable fat, milk solids or soya letchins that are breaking you out. I thought chocolate was a trigger for me, I've been eating it all week and no reaction, nothing. Just throwing i
  6. Real chocolate, or the fake stuff you buy in the shops?
  7. I understand this problem very well. It's an issue that stems from poor self-esteem, in this case, induced by acne. It's not that our acne bother others, but more that we're projecting our own disapproval and disgust (In a lot of cases) onto other people. The problem is when you actually find someone who responds negatively to your acne, because that in-turn will allow you to generalize and justify your notions about societies perspective on acne, which isn't entirely true. To be honest, if
  8. That looks deep. PIH is more difficult to treat in darker folks because we're excluded from a fair few of the treatment options. I'd say your best bet would be to see a derm and ask about a laser treatment. From the look of it, it appears to be too deep to treat with topicals. Frustrating I know.
  9. This is one of the main reasons I stayed away from Accutane. My hair is also my pride and joy and I didn't want to sacrifice that for the possibility that my acne ould be cured forever. I've heard about people who traded clear skin, for baldness despite male pattern baldness not running in the family. Are you willing to wake up one day, look in the mirror and see BOTH acne and a balding/bald head?.
  10. Yeah man, that's what happens on keto. You deplete glycogen and feel like shit, until your body adapts(2-3 weeks). You can do low carb 100-150g a day, is fine. You can aslo due keto low carb for 4 days, then refeed days for the following week of high carbs- stops the feeling like shit part. Instead of rice do sweet potoes or oatmeal. No acne. Thank you for the great advice man. I wish someone would've mentioned this when I researched it the first time.
  11. I'm a serious weight-lifter and tried keto for a week (back when my acne as a pain in the a**). It was fun spamming meat, oil and other high fat foods. My acne cleared, as well as the majority of my oil production and I looked the leanest I'd ever looked in my life (Down from 10% to 8% caliper tested). Problem is, 2-3 days in, I crashed, hard and I felt like I was dying and I'm pretty sure I saw the light on more than a few occasions. This allowed me to discover that I'm not fat-adapted at all.
