How I Got Completely Clear Skin

Not stupid at all. What's stupid is that I can't remember, lol! And also that I am just now reading your comment over 4 years later. But, I'd recommend reading this first before deciding to get an ELISA food intolerance test: http://autoimmunewellness.com/why-food-intolerance-testing-doesnt-work/ It doesn't necessarily mean there are no accurate results, but there could be false positives (or actually positive results that indicate immunity) or false negatives (or more specifically, foods th

How I Got Completely Clear Skin

Good question. Here's a response I made earlier to the same question: "I am using Caziant and have been using it since January 2010. I noticed that the birth control helps with certain types of acne (e.g. cystic, along jawline). Even so, I know that food plays a role, because even when I was on birth control for a few months prior to starting food elimination, I would still get major outbreaks. Even now, when I eat a lot of foods I shouldn't be eating, I not only have stomach issues, headache

  4. Back in December 2010, I started getting really depressed about my acne. I started having acne problems the previous year, and it was only getting worse. I noticed I was also having notable issues with headaches, muscle aches, and digestion. In 2009, I also worked at a health department and was began doing research on nutrition. During this time, I stumbled upon some sources about food intolerances and how they might contribute to acne. I started keeping a food journal and taking pulse tests

    Face the Facts

This is my attempt at systematically trying to find a solution to my acne issues. Hopefully it works, and maybe it will give others some ideas about how to tackle their acne problems!

    I completely agree... well said!

    bitter, much?

Reading all of these made me feel sad and angry that you all have to put up with this and feel this way. I've said it a million times, and I'll say it again: life really isn't fair. I hope everyone finds relief from this feeling... be it through clearer skin, surrounding yourself with the right people, or gathering the courage within yourself to be happy even though you might feel like you don't deserve it or have little to be happy about. Maybe even all of these. Good luck to all of you, and ho
  9. I hate this characteristic about myself... that I get bitter when I look at everyone around me and they all have clear skin. And then I start feeling all this anger and self-pity generate inside me. I hate it! Anyone else experience this pretty regularly...? And if so, how do you keep it from ruining your day? Let me add, it doesn't help when you finally bring it up to someone for some kind of consolation and then they start complaining about their acne. I mean, are you kidding me?! All I cou
  10. Ugh! Work is the worst! Like someone else mentioned above, EVERYONE at work has amazing skin. Even on the bus or train, I probably look crazy staring at people's faces, but everyone has excellent skin. And all I can think is "what the f*ck happend to me?" Plus, I am always working with people as part of my job in psych, so I feel very anxious about work because of that. I try not to wear make-up so I don't add to the laundry list of problems-causers, but on the days I have assessments, I have to
  11. I've learned that eating the healthiest foods won't do a thing for your health if you're including "healthy" foods that are bad for YOU. In fact, they may harm your health!

Why do some people believe that diet does not cause acne?

Another thing to keep in mind is that one man's food is another man's poison. Foods otherwise deemed healthy in general could contribute to acne if a person has a paticular allergy/sensitivity/intolerance to those foods. So even saying "eating healthy helps with acne" is an over-generalized assumption. Who would think that oranges, onions, or tomatoes could be considered unhealthy? Well, for a person with an allergy/sensitivity/intolerance to them, yes, these foods are actually very unhealthy...
