  1. What has been the winning combo for me is Differin, which acts like an exfoliant, and a manuka honey mask which helps moisturize and repair my skin. Not at the same time though! I give each 9/10. It seems like the best combination for me comes from some kind of exfoliant, ACV, AHA's, retinoids, plus something that speeds up healing, manuka honey, aloe vera etc.
  2. I use a manuka honey mask almost every night. However I do not use a BP cleanser. I use Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash to wash my face first, then I apply the honey directly to my skin and rub gently in circles. I leave it on for however long I feel like, sometimes a half hour, sometimes several hours. Then I rinse it off with water only and apply my moisturizer and my Differin. This routine has been working for me for many months in healing redmarks and helping prevent acne as well. Honey is nat
  3. Thanks lacy! The lms spotlights looked pretty good and a less expensive option as far as home treatment systems go.
  4. Hey everyone! So I am happy to report that overall my acne has improved in the last 6 months due to Differin, Duac, and Birth Control. However I still get those pesky "once a month" pimples. It wouldn't bother me if the pimples didn't always leave bright red marks behind which of course take months to heal. I use Duac, which contains benzoyl peroxide, to spot treat. I have read that BP can worsen PIH and prolong the healing time. Is this true? And if so, what is a good spot treatment to use inst

I have been taking Beyaz since December and although overall I see an improvement in the clarity of my skin and reduction of acne, I still seem to be getting a crazy breakout mid cycle or around ovulation time. For example my skin was absolutely perfect last week and then all of a sudden I had 6 new pimples on my face all within 2 days or so. I guess I am wondering if there is a better choice for me but at the same time I am hesitant to switch because it could get worse. Does anyone have any exp
  6. Thanks for the tip! I actually have been using Duac for many years but it's possible that because I was applying it consistently to these two areas that I just overdid it. I applied some triple antibiotic ointment on them so hopefully they will just calm down and heal!
  7. So I oddly have two pimples on opposite sides of my face in about the same spots. Right at my cheekbones (I'm guessing it's because my bangs are growing out and that about where they touch my face now.) Anyways, they are both pretty inflamed and I applied Duac to each side of my face. But now they are even more red and sore, almost like burns. Is there a way I can treat the pimples a bit more gently? I am hesitant to put the Duac on because the areas are so tender. What would you guys suggest us
  8. Thanks for the tip! I didn't even know about grain fed vs pastured and fermented vs unfermented. That is very helpful. I don't eat fish but I do eat eggs. They are brown omega 3 eggs from cage free hens without antibiotics or animal byproducts. Or that is what it says on the carton.
  9. Here is a little background on my situation. I have been a vegetarian for 10 years and have struggled with an eating disorder for about 8 years. I have been working very hard on my eating issues for the passed two years. I have struggled with mild to moderate acne since I hit puberty at about 14. Recently I went on birth control (beyaz) to help with my hormones and PMDD. It really has done wonders for my skin but I am still getting small pimples here and there. I have debated if I should cut out
  10. My favorite primer is the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. It really does even out the texture of my skin and helps my foundation stay put all day. I debated whether to use the Tarte Clean Slate primer because like you said it has all natural ingredients. The problem is this primer does not contain silica which is the ingredient in the most effective primers because it gives your skin that super smooth texture. However there is a catch 22 with silica because I have heard it lessens your skins abili
  11. So I have cut back on the frequency I use the Differin and my skin has totally calmed down. I've only been using it 3-4 times a week and my redness is pretty much gone. Marissa I have never noticed CeraVe causing more redness for my skin, in fact its about the only moisturizer that is gentle enough for me. But everyone's skin is different. Jojoba oil has become my best friend, it definitely soothes and reduces redness. A few drops in the CeraVe and it's the perfect moistuizer for me. I also use
  12. So I did a little test to see if one night without applying Differin would help with redness and it definitely did. I just applied my honey mask for about a half hour, washed my face and applied my moisturizer plus jojoba. Marissa have you tried this yet? It's possible that our skin just needs a little break from the Differin for a night or so.
  13. Has anyone else experienced facial redness from Differin? I realize this reaction can happen from sun exposure but I mostly stay inside and out of the sun. I feel like my face is much much more red than my neck however I am happy with the results I am getting as far as my acne goes. I do use Differin properly, here is my night time regime. 1. Wash with Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash. 2. Wait at least 20 minutes. 3. Apply pea sized amount of Differin to my entire face. Then depending on how
  14. Bogus in what way? I am just sharing my experience and I thought it would be useful information for someone who may be looking to try something new. I wish I had known about this years ago. Of course it will not work for everyone, I'm just saying it worked for me and many people give this product great reviews.
