  1. So..........which one do you recommend? Carnitine, Methionine or Lycine?
  2. My doctor says they are, but I'm a bit sceptical...here are the results Prolactin 7.4 mcg/L Oestradiol 80 pmol/L Progesterone 1.2 nmol/L he didn't check my testesterone levels. Also I was on my third day of my period the day I got the blood test done...
  3. I'm thinking of starting Vitamin A to treat my adult hormonal acne and oily skin (which I think is caused by excess androgens) , and I was wondering if the daily recommended dosage (10,000 IU?) along with 500mg pantothenic acid a day is sufficient to combat my acne. I do not want to increase my pantothenic acid dosage as I'm already experiencing some hair loss and hair thinning. Also I've been taking 50mg zinc daily for about 3 months now, but I read somwhere that it's actually a testesteron
  4. How much beta carotene were you taking? Sorry I know nothing about vitamin A, is vitamin A most effective in the beta carotene form?
  5. I've been taking 4 grams of B5 every day for the past week and I've started to experience hair thinning and and hair loss, even though I have short hair. So I was thinking cutting down my dosage to 500mg a day, but I'm scared that my hair loss will not stop . I've heard stories where completely eliminating the B5 still caused some hair loss afterwards. So what do you guys think I should do? Do you think lowering my dosage to 500mg will stop the hairloss?
  6. Which is more effective as an anti-androgen? Saw palmetto, or spearmint tea? And in what dosages?
  7. About 2 months ago, I started taking saw palmetto , and saw results in about a month. but after that, I switched to a different brand, and experienced breakouts..... so I was wondering if different brands of supplements can cause different results?
  8. I've been using paula's choice 2% bha gel and aspirin tablets to exfoliate my face, and I've noticed how my skin goes very red when exposed to the sun, much more than I used to. I know I should be wearing sunscreen, but my question is, will my skin's sensitivity to UV return back to normal after i stop using BHA products? and after how long? It's been about two weeks since I stopped. and i still experience a lot of rednes when exposed to the sun.
  9. Is Vitex an andi-androgen or an androgen booster? I've been researching a lot about this herb and some sources say it is an anti-androgen, and some say its not. I have excess testestorone and I've been taking vitex for about 5 days now, and have been experiencing oilier skin and a major breakout WHYAM I BREAKING OUT FROM THIS :'( Also how are the hormones progesterone, estrogen and testosterone all related? Some say progesterone is good for regulating hormones , but if you have an exces
  10. I've always had mild acne between the ages of 12~17... it was when I turned 17 that I suddenly broke out in all these pimples. I am now 19 and I have both inflamed acne and comedones... The weird thing is I never used to get blackheads on my face (apart from my nose) but now I get them everywhere, like on my cheeks and forehead I have a lot of clogged pores now. I've tried most products, like benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, AHA, apple cider vinegar, zinc supplements, aspirin masks etc but non
  11. So I've been using the AHA+ everynight for the last week... at first it smoothed my skin a lot, but then it started giving me all these little whiteheads and comedones . I'm not sure if its a purge because i've been getting them in areas where i don't usually get them. The more i use it the more whiteheads i seem to be getting.... What should I do? Should I stop using it? Btw, I'm not using any BP...
  12. I read some reviews for dan's AHA+ and some people are saying that nightly use of AHA can cause overexfoliation and cause breakouts, but I'm a little desperate atm so I was wondering if it was safe to use it every night maybe just for the first week of use? then i could reduce the usage to maybe 3 times a week. also when using AHA as a spot treatment... do I apply regular moisturiser on first than apply the AHA? i'm worried the AHA will lose its effectiveness if I apply moisturizer before....
  13. For those who've used AHA+ without the BP.... How long did it take for an initial breakout to occur, and for it to go away? also does using AHA+ help with small raised bumps (I think are whiteheads) ? They're clustered on one spot and some of them are under the skin , and even if I squeeze them they don't come out. Does the AHA+ help with small comedones also? I have lots of them... they give my skin a rough appearance. And what about on scars? any help would be great
