  1. Basically I have always had mild to moderate acne, and lately have gotten some sun, which makes it worse... But I'll be in the sun all summer near a swimming pool, (paid job) and I know I can use sun screen but at the same time sun makes it look better (then worse, I know), and I feel like chlorine makes it worse (not sure if the pools use chlorine or not yet), but I know chlorine water always makes my face red / dry. But I have bacne, chest acne, and facial.... Tho my chest is more at the point
  2. In a nutshell... I've triedAveeno Proactiv Pronexin Neutrogena Clearisil Acne free Clean and clear Clinique Noxzema St Ives Oxy Burt's bees, Biore And a few random kits/brands from drug stores. It may not be everything but I've damn tried a lot. The dermatologist one is the name I can't remember. And this list isn't even ALL, that I've tried Oh and some oral supplements
  3. To clarify, did you use any prescription topicals? On average, how long did you stay with your regimens? I have tried one prescription I do not remember the name, was a topical, but yeah I don't know... And on average I would try stuff for 2-3 months. I don't really want to keep using all these products on my face if they aren't really going to help it and just make it worse, especially chemicals and whatnot.... So, you've only tried one prescription and the rest OTC--am I getting that right

  6. It's not question to me that acne has ruined my self-esteem and stopped me many times from doing things I normally would do. I am just flat out sick of it. I have tried almost everything. Even nothing at all, which, most people says is bad and will make it worse, but my acne never gets better or worse when I use stuff or don't use stuff. The only time I felt like it improved some was when I used retinol, for almost a year. and even then it would come back. I'm just so tired of it and want clear
  7. Surgeons always douse a surgical patient in something called Betadine while you're under. It kills pretty much all bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and viruses in about 5 minutes. I actually had a dermatologist who would use it at the end of every appointment (he did sort of mini-facial extractions for this patients). I finally asked him what it was. Turns out it's like $6 at Wal-Mart. The downside is it leaves an orange stain on the skin that requires a high strength detergent to wash off. So it's

  9. So how can we repeat something similar? Even the dark circles under my eyes got better.. Lol
  10. I've had mild to moderate acne since I was about 16 or 17 (now 21), really nothing worked for me other than when I went up north it would randomly clear up, maybe the environment, I dunno. But something to ponder and maybe try based off of. I had surgery this morning and when I came too my shirt was lowered (that gown they make you wear), and my chest was completely clear. My face looked like it was glowing and some of the acne had cleared, and was healing. Could this have something to do with t
  11. I found neutrogenas new wash / gel treatment based on salycic acid, and I was curious, I have been using it about a week now and had a few new break outs come up, first one went away not have another, they are more of red spots then pimples, but i've been treating my whole face, and the areas that don't break out (my cheeks) are extremely soft, but the normal break out areas got a few new pimples (more then I typically get at a time) and I am curious is it normal to break out a few times (purgin
  12. Thank you very much! I guess singing and humming would make sense, since I sing badly!! Maybe it will increase both! :P
  13. To be honest the best way to treat acne is to expect nothing to work. That way if you continually trying products until (slight possibility) you find something that works, you won't be as discouraged about something not working. Most people do say your acne is not that bad, but they don't have any. So they don't usually understand what you are going through. Which is why it was so hard for me. I was always told it's not that bad but I had to suffer through it while everyone around me had perfect
  14. I was just wondering because I know a lot of people say your skin heals when you sleep, etc etc. My dad had sleep apnea (had to go through multiple surgeries, and my brother and I found out (well I know for sure, we just assume my brother does cause same symptoms when sleeping) but I was just curious as to whether or not acne could be related to sleep apnea or not, because only my brother and I have acne. . . . If you know what sleep apnea is and the effects, please let me know your opinion,
  15. Thanks for the post, and great minds think alike! haha yeah I love nighttime. I feel like a vampire sometimes. :P As for the poor strips, when I was about 14 years old I did my first pore strip, not because I had acne (infact my face was clear) but because my friends mom and I were staying at a cabin, and they wanted my brother and I to do it with them, (cause it was funny for a guy to do a nose strip), and from then on I began to notice I had black heads, (along with my brother who also did it
